David Pomeranz is ‘Coming Home’ on Dec. 8
Newport World Resorts welcomes Grammy-winning singer-songwriter David Pomeranz back with a “Coming Home” concert to mark the 40th anniversary since he first performed in the country. The one-night show rewinds his greatest hits and good old memories with special guest Vina Morales on Dec. 8 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
Filipinos began to believe in the magic of David Pomeranz’s music four decades ago when the seasoned balladeer first performed in the Philippines in 1983. Since then, his enduring love songs “Got to Believe in Magic,” “King and Queen of Hearts,” “On This Day” and “Born for You” ignited a love affair that still burns strong today. This massive fascination earned his compilation album “Born For You-His Best And More” over 500,000 copies sold, becoming the country’s best-selling international pop album of all time.
While fans crowned him as the king of hearts and romantic ditties, Pomeranz considers the Philippines his second home, setting foot here almost every year to perform or travel. In 2013, he staged a benefit concert at the Newport Performing Arts Theater for the victims of Typhoon “Yolanda” that received outpouring support.
