Ely Buendia to headline solo concert at Newport
Fans will get a chance to watch rock icon and Eraserheads front man Ely Buendia perform his greatest hits on Sept. 14 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
The one-night solo concert, directed by Jamie Wilson, will feature tracks from his Eraserheads days just the way fans remember them, as well as his more recent hits.
Buendia and his E-heads bandmates produced such phenomenal tracks as “Pare Ko,” ”Toyang,” “Tindahan ni Aling Nena,” “Ligaya,” “Kailan,” “Magasin,” “Alapaap,” “With a Smile” and “Huling El Bimbo.”
After parting ways with the band, Buendia’s musical journey continued to evolve as the front man of rock band Pupil, rock supergroup The Oktaves, and soul outfit Apartel.
In recent years, Buendia headlined solo concerts held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater stage, which featured the cast of the hit stage musical “Ang Huling El Bimbo, The Musical.”
