For PH-bound Big Time Rush, being onstage is ‘a feeling like no other’
After a seven-year hiatus that had its members pursuing solo endeavors, the American boy band Big Time Rush reunited in 2020, and has since put out new music and embarked on world tours. Now, the pop group—composed of Kendall Schmidt, Logan Henderson, James Maslow and Carlos PenaVega—is set to hold a series of shows in Australia and Asia, which will include a stop in Manila.
Presented by Live Nation Philippines (LNPH), the concert will be held on Oct. 17 at New Frontier Theater.
Members of the LNPH website, www.livenation.ph., are eligible for a presale opportunity on July 19 from 10 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. General ticket-selling takes place the following day, July 20, at 12 p.m., via www.ticketnet.com.ph
Known for its brand of pop inspired by dance and rock genres, Big Time Rush first rose to international prominence through the Nickelodeon musical sitcom also called “Big Time Rush.”
Buoyed by the resurgence of the pop boy band craze in the early 2010s, the four-man group would go on to release four albums (“BTR,” “Elevate,” “24/7” and “Another Life”) and a string of hit songs, including “Boyfriend,” “Big Time Rush,” “Worldwide” and “Til I Forget About You.”
Some of the band’s newer material are the singles “Only One,” “Suave” and “Can’t Get Enough.”
‘Unspoken connection’
While they spent a long time away from each other, the “unspoken connection” remained. “We can glance at each other and with the smallest look, we’ll understand what’s needed or how great something was or what we need to do next,” Kendall said in a press statement. This spark can be observed whenever the boys hit the stage. “Onstage is a time where we can be almost completely fluid. It does really take you out of whatever’s going on at the moment and you can just be free. It’s a feeling like no other,” Logan said. INQ
