Neri Naig on investing wisely, raising her kids with Chito Miranda

She may not be as visible onscreen now compared to when she was with Star Magic, but Neri Naig is fine with that. After joining the first batch of Star Cirle Quest two decades ago, she went on to appear in a number of ABS-CBN TV shows and Star Cinema movies.

Neri has been married to Parokya ni Edgar lead vocalist Chito Miranda for a decade and they are the parents of two boys. She is busy caring for them while also investing in businesses and properties with Chito.

“We really consider different variables before signing up to be partners. When we finally do, it’s often around 5 percent. I really prefer if we own a business because then, if it gets too stressful, we can quickly just shut it down,” Neri told Entertainment.

As minority partners, she and her husband just post on their socials about whichever business they’ve partnered with.

“I learned from Chito the importance of taking out insurance, making investments. He gives me an allowance for the household. If I go beyond, I have to pay for whatever it is. For example, if I want to add extra house help, I pay for it.”

Neri prefers investing in properties and renting them out because it’s passive income. They were able to secure three units in a Batangas resort conveniently located next to each other. “I really believe if it’s meant for me, then it’s meant for me,” she said. Neri said she still gets offers to be part of TV series.

“One of them was the Filipino version of Korean series ‘It’s OK to Not be OK.’ I was supposed to appear in the pilot if I had accepted, but the shoot coincided with the three-week concert tour of Parokya ni Edgar.”

She’s not holding out for a better role. “I want to focus on raising our kids, securing a future for them.”
