Vina Morales’ Holy Week devotion

Avatar

For Vina Morales, Holy Week is usually spent with family at her elder sister Sheila’s vacation home in Tagaytay City.

“Holy Week is family time. When we don’t have work, that’s the only time we can all get together. We also usually spend some time in Batangas. And then we go back to Tagaytay kapag nainitan!” the singer-actress told the Inquirer.

Vina, Sheila and their youngest sister, Shaina Magdayao, have been devotees of Padre Pio of Pietrelcina or St. Pio for 10 years now. “We go to church and do the Stations of the Cross… We pray a novena of Padre Pio. That’s a yearly practice for us,” she related.

Many devotees

“I can’t remember how it started, but our devotion started at the same time. Shaina even went to Italy (in San Giovanni Rotondo, where Padre Pio’s relics are located). A lot of my friends are also devotees,” she said of the Italian saint to whom miracles of healing are attributed by believers.
