Vivamax seals multipicture deals at Busan fest

Viva Entertainment’s online video-streaming site Vivamax sold more than 60 original titles to Asian distributors at the recent Asian Content and Film Market of the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea.South Korean outfits Lumix Media, With Lion and Jaye Entertainment acquired more than 40 titles for distribution in their territory. The Japanese company Nettai Museum, meanwhile, acquired 24.

Among the most popular films from the catalog were Law Fajardo’s “Mahjong Nights,’ starring Angeli Khang and Jay Manalo; Brillante Ma Mendoza’s “Palitan” (Cara Gonzales and Jela Cuenca); and Topel Lee’s “Tayuan” (Khang and Stephanie Raz).

Launched in early 2021 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Vivamax now has seven million subscribers from Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America.
