A card for every member

For millions of Filipinos who rely on their Social Security System (SSS) benefits, managing payouts and keeping track of funds is about to get easier. Through a new partnership between SSS and China Banking Corporation (Chinabank), members can soon enjoy faster, safer, and more convenient access to their benefits with the new MySSS Card powered by Chinabank Debit Visa.

The partnership was formalized through a memorandum of agreement signed on October 7, 2025, at Chinabank’s head office in Makati City. Present during the signing were Chinabank President & CEO Romeo D. Uyan Jr., Chinabank Consumer Banking Segment Head and Executive Vice President Aloysius C. Alday Jr., and SSS President & CEO Robert Joseph M. De Claro and SSS Corporate Services Sector & IT Management Group EVP Elvira G. Alcantara-Resare, joined by officials from Visa, the global payments company.

The new MySSS Card powered by Chinabank Debit Visa will serve as both an ATM card and a valid SSS ID, designed to make everyday transactions more seamless for SSS members.

Aside from the convenience it brings, the card connects directly to a Chinabank savings account with no maintaining balance and zero card fee for the first issuance.

It also allows members to send and receive money through InstaPay and PesoNet—features that make it not just a benefits card but also a practical everyday banking tool.

“This partnership with SSS brings us closer to making government disbursements more efficient and user-friendly,” said Chinabank Consumer Banking Segment Head and Executive Vice President Aloysius C. Alday Jr. “Through the MySSS Card powered by Chinabank Debit Visa, we’re giving members not only easier access to their benefits but also the convenience of paying securely — whether online, overseas, or in their everyday transactions.”

The initiative is part of SSS’s ongoing digital transformation, which aims to simplify how members receive benefits such as sickness, maternity, unemployment, retirement, and calamity loans. With the new card, beneficiaries no longer need to line up for over-the-counter releases or wait for checks to clear—the funds are credited directly to their account.

Members may open their MySSS Card account at any Chinabank branch nationwide, with options for card delivery or branch pickup, making enrollment simple and accessible even for those in the provinces.

The card also introduces eco-friendly features, including a green PIN option that allows users to generate their PIN electronically—reducing paper waste while ensuring security.

“Ultimately, our goal is to help SSS promote broader financial inclusion among Filipinos,” Alday added. “With the MySSS Card powered by Chinabank Debit Visa, members can enjoy perks and privileges, and as a Visa card, it gives members a safer and more rewarding way to pay — anytime, anywhere in the world.”

With this partnership, Chinabank joins the roster of MySSS Card bank partners that enable members to receive all types of SSS disbursements through a single, unified channel.

More details about the MySSS Card powered by Chinabank Debit Visa, including its availability and rollout schedule, will be announced soon.
