BingoPlus marks third anniversary

Top stars and celebrities turned up at the lavish third anniversary bash of BingoPlus on March 27. It was a night of show-stopping performances that also put the spotlight on the P150-million donation to the digital entertainment company’s Bingo Plus Foundation.

Yeng Constantino set the tone at the Marriot Grand Ballroom with the high energy opening number featuring her hit song “Time In.” Then, program hosts Sam Y.G. and Nicole Cordovez led the BingoPlus executives’ toast to the three years of successfully running the gaming app powered by DigiPlus, a Fortune Southeast Asia 500 company.

BingoPlus brand ambassador Piolo Pascual sent hearts aflutter with his romantic rendition of well-loved tunes “With a Smile” and “Hanggang Kailan.” Angeline Quinto sustained the momentum with her birit version of OPM classic “Till I Met You” and her signature songs “Kunin Mo Na Ang Lahat sa Akin” and “Tuloy ang Pangarap.”

The audience was kept entertained with back-to-back performances by Jackie Gonzaga and Jak Roberto. They also applauded when Miss Universe 2024 Victoria Kjaer Theilvig of Denmark talked about the fruitful partnership between the organization that she represents and BingoPlus.

More cheers followed with the appearance of BingoPlus’ mascot Bing Bing in the production number led by its own dance group, BingGirls. The energy level continued rising with the vocal harmony of Patrick Quiroz, Zephanie, and the quintet Yes My Love.
Then it was time for international musical act Stephen Speaks to take centerstage. His Filipino fans just couldn’t get enough of his romantic hits “Passenger Seat” and “Out of My League.” They even sang along.

But what brought the house down was rock band Parokya ni Edgar, who got the people at the front tables on their feet as they played “Buloy” and “Halaga.” Frontman Chito Miranda admitted he and his bandmates were initially intimidated by the event’s elegant venue and guests in formal attire, but then realized, “Rock and roll din pala kayo!”

Impromptu
Miranda then revealed that somebody in the audience requested for “Bagsakan,” so he called for volunteers to do the parts of Francis M and Gloc-9 in the iconic rap piece. He found a female guest for Francis M’s part and a member of his team for Gloc-9’s part. The result was impromptu genius.

Nearing the show’s end, Kim Chiu made sure the audience remain entertained with her video performances of dance hits. Finally for the finale, Vice Ganda set the stage on fire one last time with a grand production number featuring her hit songs “Rampa” and “Push Mo Yan Teh!”

Equally unforgettable that night was how BingoPlus reached milestones that go beyond giving opportunities to win millions in jackpot prizes. These also include advocating for responsible gaming and financial literacy. Another is building the BingoPlus Foundation that supports efforts to uplift education and help in disaster relief operations.

In a press conference held prior to the show, Rafael Jasper Vicencio, president of AB Leisure Exponent Inc., which serves as game provider of BingoPlus, reflected on past accomplishments and looked forward to reaching greater heights.
“It’s hard to build a brand in less than three years,” he said. “After two years, we already knew that BingoPlus is a hit. It’s not really about the cost but making sure that the brand is known and that we have a goal to accomplish.”

He continued, “The aim of the company is to give back. It’s not just giving away. The more we give back to the community also, the more we give back to our players. I think that is one of the reasons why BingoPlus continues to grow. We Filipinos have a saying, right? Whatever you give, it really comes back.”
He shared a glimpse of what’s in store for the brand’s patrons: “The goal of the whole company is to bring more entertainment and easier access for Filipinos. So, whether it’s games, movies, reels, or whatever, we’re continuously pushing this forward. We want the entertainment value of the app to be there, not only the gaming.”
