Browser games for your mid-work break

Carl Martin Agustin

The best games out there are undeniably on either PC or console. But that doesn’t mean you can’t play a good one even if you’re just on the internet. These browser games won’t give you the same visual fidelity or gameplay as others, but considering how simple yet replayable these are, we won’t be surprised if these games start distracting you from your work.

Size It Up

Size It Up

This browser game tests just how well you know how big or small things really are. In Size It Up, players are tasked with estimating the size of an object, using only another item as a fixed real-world reference. For example, the game asks you to scale the correct size of the Eiffel Tower with the Empire State Building as your reference.

Size It Up isn’t limited to real-world objects, with pop culture and geography modes set to test just how good you are at measuring scale.

The Choicer Voicer

Ever consider a career in voice acting? Well, The Choicer Voicer will help you find out whether or not you can cut it. The game tasks players with dubbing over a known pop culture scene—mostly to comedic effect, rather than a truly competitive experience.

There are different scenarios to choose from in The Choicer Voicer, from the iconic stand-off between Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in “Star Wars Episode 3” to Will’s lengthy coming-out scene in the last season of “Stranger Things.”

Pop culture character designs are honestly so well made that they can easily be recognized at a single glance. PixReveal takes this to the next level and tests your pop culture knowledge with pixel art. Forget the exact look of characters; you’re relying on colors and their general placement—oh, and there’s time pressure, too.

PixReveal can be played solo, online, or even among friends with a dedicated party mode.

Konkr

Konkr

Ever play Civilization? Konkr, although more simplistic, plays similarly. Players are tasked with growing their kingdoms, earning income, improving their military, and making the correct choice against the enemy empire. The goal is in the name—conquer—and this single-player game is quite the find.

82-0

82-0

At times, professional sports teams, coaches, and general managers simply perform so poorly that we, the viewing audience, arrive at the conclusion that we could somehow do better than them.

Well, at least for the NBA, 82-0 gives you the chance to prove just that.

The game is simple: build your roster from different players across different eras to create the ultimate 82-0 winning team. The fun part? It’s actually quite challenging to get the right balance of players necessary for a no-loss season. Not to mention, you can finish a draft in just a few minutes, adding to its replayability and overall addictiveness.
