CCP Nat’l Theatre Live screens more theater classics

With the successful launch of the first season of Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) National Theatre Live, CCP and the Ayala Malls Cinemas heard the public demand and are happy to share more featured filmed productions under the new CCP program. In partnership with National Theatre Live and the Ayala Malls Cinemas, CCP brings the best of British theater, which started September and will run until May 28, 2024.The new program provides an exceptional and accessible “live” performance experience filmed live from the UK’s most exciting stages.

CCP NATIONAL THEATRE LIVE S1_Much Ado About Nothing.

 

Following the screenings of Yann Martel’s “Life of Pi,” Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s “Fleabag” and Anton Chekhov’s “The Seagull” are back-to-back screenings of William Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” on Dec. 19. Director Simon Godwin takes on the Shakespeare classic, with an irresistible comedy, broadcast live from the National Theatre stage. Katherine Parkinson and John Heffernan lead the cast in this romcom of sun, sea and mistaken identity.

The CCP National Theatre Live welcomes the new year with Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible” on Jan. 24, 2024. The play tells a captivating parable of power with a witch hunt. Directed by Lyndsey Turner, this contemporary new staging, designed by Tony Award-winner Es Devlin, stars Erin Doherty and Brendan Cowell.

Another Shakespearean masterpiece, “Othello,” makes it to the first season of CCP National Theatre Live, screening on March 26, 2024. Directed by Clint Dyer, the play features Giles Terera, Rosy McEwen and Paul Hilton.
