On view at Art Elaan is Chito Ignacio’s solo exhibition, “It Keeps Blooming.” Known for his large closeups of flowers, Ignacio pays homage to the hibiscus (gumamela). In his work, the hibiscus is in full bloom, unfurling in radiantly intense colors. He acknowledges his debt to the American painter Georgia O’Keeffe, who first introduced the art of magnified close-ups of petals to nurture an intimate relationship with Mother Nature.
Show runs until April 30. Art Elaan is at Ides Contemporary Arts Gallery, UGF, Festival Supermall Expansion Wing, Filinvest City, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
