Del Monte partners with PSND with its Nutrilicious advocacy against malnutrition

  • Del Monte aims to empower Filipino families to make family meals more nutritious with recipes below P200

Vowing to fight child malnutrition this Nutrition Month, Del Monte Philippines has partnered with professional organization Philippine Stakeholders for Nutrition and Dietetics (PSND) to Launch Nutrilicious a nationwide advocacy that aims to help Filipino families eat healthier and more delicious meals without breaking the budget.

Nutrilicious focuses primarily on delivering essential nutrients and vitamins to Filipino children, following the findings by the 2022 Global Nutrition Report  saw that 1 in 4 children under five years old were stunted in growth—30 percent higher than the Asian average of 21.1 percent.

Through Nutrilicious  and forming a Del Monte Nutrition Council with nutritionists, R&D, and culinary experts, Del Monte will provide tried-and-tested recipes that Filipino families can use to cook healthy meals, focusing on the use of the brand’s classic products Del Monte Tomato Sauce, Del Monte 100% Pineapple Juice ACE, and Del Monte Pineapple Solids. These staples were chosen for being packed with essential nutrients that promote everyday wellness, such as Lycopene, Vitamins A, C, and E, Fiber, and Iodine.

Along with providing nutrient-packed recipes, Del Monte also aims to debunk the myth that healthy meals must be expensive, targeting to serve nutritious dishes for P200 or less.

“We are deeply honored to be part of this meaningful occasion. Today marks a pivotal moment in the collaborative journey between PSND and Del Monte Philippines as we unite in our shared commitment to provide better nutrition for all Filipinos,” said Alvin Manalansan, Vice President of PSND.
