Enhanced cooperation with Brazil
The celebration of Brazil’s 202nd Independence Day took place at Uma Nota, a restaurant renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and exceptional Brazilian cuisine.
During the event, Ambassador Gilberto Fonseca Guimaraes de Moura underscored the enduring friendship between Brazil and the Philippines, further emphasized by the recent visit of Brazil Minister of Foreign Affairs Mauro Vieira—the first Brazilian foreign minister to visit in nearly eight decades of diplomatic relations.
In recent years, trade between Brazil and the Philippines has grown immensely, with Brazil emerging as a reliable trade partner, not only for food products and commodities but also for defense items.
Meanwhile, the Philippines has become an important exporter of value-added products, particularly electronic and microelectronic devices.
Looking ahead, De Moura expressed optimism for enhanced cooperation in various fields, including agriculture and renewable energy.
With Brazil set to host COP-30 in 2025, there was a renewed commitment to addressing global challenges, especially the climate crisis.
As the celebration concluded, the strong partnership between Brazil and the Philippines was highlighted, along with a tribute to national heroes and individuals like Filipino sports hero Carlos Yulo, who exemplified integrity and dedication.
