‘Hilo’: Groovy anthem for romantic overthinkers

Press Release
Dani Zam -TARSIER RECORDS.

Kapamilya artist Dani Zam navigates overthinking by questioning the depth of one’s feelings in her groovy R&B single “Hilo,” released by Tarsier Records last Friday.

“I wanted to write something that had a nostalgic element, but still had a narrative that any person, no matter what generation he’s from, could have experienced at any point in his life,” said the Tarsier Records artist. The song has a hint of Neo-soul and pop sound and features a relatable narrative about being wrapped up in someone and wanting him so badly to be as into you as you are into him.

“It’s a simple love song on the surface—it has catchy hooks and a relatable story—but there’s definitely some depth there too, like in the harmonies and the bass riffs. It was important to me to have both of those elements,” she added.

“Hilo” is a follow-up to Dani’s first release under Tarsier Records called “Beso,” which has over 271,000 streams on Spotify alone and has been featured in multiple editorial playlists, such as OPM (Original Pilipino Music) Rising, Chillax Ka Muna, New Music Friday and OPM Says Chillax.
