Every Robert Pattinson movie coming out this year
Since playing the somber and brooding Edward Cullen, few expected Robert Pattinson to find success outside the “Twilight” franchise. Instead, rather than taking on similar teen idol roles, Pattinson entered what many would consider a career transformation.
Following “Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” Pattinson practically withdrew from the limelight, taking on roles in films that drew in crowds at a much lower clip than his previous blockbusters. In films such as “Good Time,” “The Lighthouse,” and “The King,” Pattinson worked with reputable directors such as Robert Eggers and the Safdie brothers and slowly built up his filmography and range.
The 2020s signaled his return to the mainstream with Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet” and Matt Reeves’ “The Batman,” cementing Pattinson as a box office guarantee that could very well shape the success and direction of whatever film he’s in.
Just last year, he continued on this run with outings in “Mickey 17” and “Die My Love”—but it’s his films this year that we should be talking about. “The Drama,” “The Odyssey,” and “Dune: Part Three.” The year of Robert Pattinson.
Sorry Timothée Chalamet, you might just have to skip past the next Oscars as well.
“The Drama”
Starring Zendaya and Pattinson, and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, “The Drama” follows a new couple that is soon tying the knot. The pair is happily engaged and madly in love with one another, but their relationship is put to the test after an unexpected turn leads them to question each other.
In a film landscape where movie trailers practically show everything, “The Drama” reveals just enough to have viewers intrigued, but not too much that you figure everything out in one go. Because we all have one thing in mind: What the hell did Zendaya’s character do?!
For the unfamiliar, during one of their pre-wedding dinners with another couple, one of them asks: What is the worst thing you’ve ever done? Answers roll out the way you’d expect, with the typical embarrassing anecdotes everyone just laughs at. They don’t show what exactly she says, but Zendaya’s all-too-serious and unintended answer to the question warranted a tense and grim “what the f***,” and set the film’s main conflict in motion.
What did she say? We’ll all have to wait till April 3.

“The Odyssey”
Pattinson’s reunion with Nolan is already one of the most anticipated films of the year, which is set to premiere in theaters on July 17.
In this modern retelling of Homer’s age-old tale, Pattinson plays Antinous, one of the 108 suitors of Penelope, desiring to become the new king of Ithaca in the absence of Odysseus. He is considered the most ruthless of the bunch and is known for plotting to kill Telemachus (played by Tom Holland), the son of Odysseus and Penelope, to claim the wealth of Ithaca for himself.
Interestingly, Zendaya is also cast in “The Odyssey” as Athena, who guides Matt Damon’s Odysseus on his journey home.

“Dune: Part Three”
Starring Chalamet, Zendaya (again), Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Javier Bardem, and based on Frank Herbert’s “Dune Messiah,” “Dune: Part Three” marks the epic conclusion to Denis Villeneuve’s trilogy.
Pattinson is set to play Scytale of the Bene Tleilax, a similar group to the Bene Gesserit, that aims to control the empire from the shadows. Their aim in “Dune: Part Three” is to perfect the Ghola, a clone of a deceased individual without memories. By creating a perfect clone that retains the memories of the original, it would allow the Bene Tleilax to virtually be immortal. Pattinson’s character is said to be the reason why Duncan Idaho (played by Momoa), who passed away in the first “Dune” film, was brought back to life.
But how is it already the end when “Dune Messiah” is only the second book in the six-book series? Apparently, Villeneuve only ever aimed to chronicle the rise and fall of Paul Atreides, with the award-winning director looking to explore more projects outside the “Dune” universe. Looks like seeing Leto II turn into a sandworm isn’t in the cards for Hollywood just yet.
