Fresh arrivals and experiences to try

This month’s latest openings and launches bring a little more fun to the everyday—whether you are shopping for a fashion lover and their mini-me, looking for a way to stay fresh through another humid Manila afternoon, or ready to see just how well your makeup holds up under pressure.

Paris-born Kids Around has landed in Manila with designer childrenswear from some of fashion’s biggest names, local beauty brand Popique is expanding its lineup with hair and body mists made with our weather in mind, and Dazzle Me is taking its setting sprays out of the beauty counter and putting them through a series of very literal tests.

From new places to shop to beauty essentials designed to keep up with busy days, here is what is new and worth knowing.

Kids Around officially arrives in Manila

The Paris-born childrenswear destination has opened its first Philippine boutique at Greenbelt 5, bringing together children’s collections from Chloé, Givenchy, Kenzo, and Boss, alongside Kids Around’s own label. Already present in 29 countries with more than 85 boutiques, the concept offers everything from baby clothes and accessories to pieces for older kids and teens.

“More than bringing these brands under one roof, we wanted to create an experience that celebrates children’s individuality and gives kids the freedom to discover their own sense of style,” says Sabrina Miranda, group general manager of Adrenaline Group, operator of the Kids Around boutique in the Philippines.

For parents already familiar with the fashion houses, there is plenty that will look familiar—just in much smaller sizes. Chloé translates its romantic aesthetic into airy dresses, florals, and delicate details, while Givenchy brings its mix of Parisian elegance and streetwear influences. Kenzo Kids goes more playful with colorful prints and signature motifs, and Boss offers mini versions of its tailoring, sporty separates, and graphic tees.

Even the store itself borrows from Paris. Inspired by a Haussmannian apartment, the Greenbelt 5 space pairs paneled walls and herringbone-style flooring with playful pops of color, with dedicated areas for girls, boys, babies, shoes, and accessories.

Popique adds hair and body mists to its lineup

With the heat, humidity, and long days spent running around the city, sometimes you just need a quick refresh. Popique’s newest launch is designed for exactly that.

The local beauty brand has introduced its first Fresh Start Hydrating Hair & Body Mist collection, a two-in-one mist made to refresh both your hair and skin without the sticky or heavy feeling you definitely do not want in Philippine weather.

The lightweight formula combines fragrance with hydrating and nourishing ingredients, so it does more than simply make you smell good. A few sprays can freshen up your hair and skin while giving both a little extra care, whether it is after a long commute, an afternoon outdoors, or before heading from work to dinner.

There are five tropical-inspired scents to choose from: Coco Rush is creamy and coconutty; Desert Mist is light and aquatic; Ocean Bloom mixes fresh ocean notes with florals and soft woods; Sugar Petal leans sweet and floral; and Sun Spell is the brightest of the bunch, with a citrusy burst of bergamot.

More than another fragrance to layer into your routine, the appeal is its convenience: one bottle that can freshen up both hair and body whenever the weather—or the day—starts getting to you. Because no matter which scent you choose, each offers an easy head-to-toe refresh that feels especially practical for hot, humid days.

The Get, Grip, Go! campaign answers one of the most important questions of cosmetic users: Will this product survive various activities?

Dazzle Me puts its setting sprays to the test

If you have ever wondered whether your setting spray could survive a climbing wall, bowling session, or dance class, Dazzle Me is giving you a chance to find out.

From Aug. 10 to Sept. 10, the beauty brand is taking its Get a Grip Makeup Setting Spray collection outside the usual beauty counter with Get, Grip, Go!, a month-long campaign across five active destinations in Metro Manila. Each location comes with a physical challenge—and the chance to take home one of the brand’s setting sprays.

At Good Climbs, participants who complete the Dazzle Me climbing route within 30 seconds can win the Matte Fix, while consecutive strikes at Enter10 Bowling can earn you the Prime + Set. Over at 808 Studio BGC, dancers selected by the instructor can take home the Shimmer Fix. There is also a two-minute hanging challenge at The Fun Roof for the Hydro Fix, and anyone who completes three laps at Roller Fever within 50 seconds can win the Barbie Oil Control + Set.

Beyond the prizes, the idea is to put the formulas through the kind of heat, sweat, and movement that can really test whether your makeup stays in place.

The Get, Grip, Go! campaign runs until Sept. 10 at participating venues across Metro Manila
