From gaunt to glowing
An octogenarian woman sought rejuvenation, including improved sexual function, from Dr. Loysa Orense in Quezon City. Based on comprehensive tests, Dr. Orense, a regenerative medicine practitioner, tailored a regimen of supplements and intravenous drips to the patient’s specific needs.Within three months, the woman’s skin exhibited a remarkable improvement in tone and texture, and pronounced eye bags were visibly reduced with an under-eye thread lift.
To increase vaginal lubrication, Dr. Orense administered a series of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) injections to the vaginal wall. PRF, an autologous material derived from platelets, stimulates tissue regeneration. The patient subsequently reported dramatic results from the PRF treatment after reconnecting with her ex-boyfriend in Australia.
Stem cell derivatives
Dr. Orense has introduced customized intravenous drips as part of the new rejuvenation programs at Nurture Wellness Village (NWV), a health resort in Tagaytay. She plans to expand NWV’s offerings to include PRF treatments and other innovative protocols.
The specialized drips, sourced from Japan, contain prescription-dosed human stem cell derivatives, placenta extract, glutathione, vitamins C and B, and essential minerals.
“We are combining traditional wellness practices with regenerative medicine therapies,” she explained.
Dr. Orense honed her expertise through a stem cell course at the University of California Irvine Stem Cell Research Center. Subsequently, she completed a preceptorship in aesthetic procedures and stem cell therapy under the guidance of Korean internal medicine doctor and cosmetic surgeon Kim Byung-sun. The doctor maintains her knowledge through ongoing education during Dr. Kim’s monthly visits to the Philippines. Additionally, she participated in a convention on stem cell techniques and applications hosted by the Asia Pacific Society on Precision Anti-Aging Medicine in Taiwan.
Beyond her medical practice, Dr. Orense made news during the pandemic for developing BantAI Covid, an AI-powered system for contact tracing, monitoring and telemedicine referrals in Quezon City.
Currently, she oversees personalized holistic programs addressing a wide range of health concerns, including weight loss, antiaging, liver detox, stress management and sexual function enhancement for both men and women.
Unlike many doctors who rely on brief consultations and delegated care, Dr. Orense maintains close supervision of her patients, using their immediate feedback to refine treatment plans. “My training emphasizes direct patient involvement,” she says, “and I believe in hands-on monitoring without excuses.”
Results in 5 days
A case in point was a walk-in guest. A Russian American entrepreneur, his gaunt face and dull skin belying his age, arrived at NWV seeking a transformative wellness experience. With a medical history marked by hepatitis B, arsenic poisoning, liver complications and multiple allergies, the entrepreneur, facing critical business decisions, sought clarity and regeneration.
Dr. Orense, collaborating with NWV’s integrative medicine specialist Dr. Samuel Dizon, crafted a meticulous five-day detox program tailored to the entrepreneur.
“Combining treatments optimizes results,” Dr. Orense explained.
The detox protocol included a series of intensive therapies: 41-degree Celsius fever baths, charcoal wraps and thrice-daily charcoal enemas. These treatments, all incorporating special charcoal powder, work in tandem to prevent toxin absorption. A customized regimen of juices, plant-based meals, supplements and drips further supported the body’s healing process. The entrepreneur’s environment was meticulously controlled to eliminate allergen exposure, from dust mites to fabric conditioner scents.
Midway through the program, Dr. Orense ordered additional tests to compare with baseline results. Elevated potassium levels prompted further adjustments in the entrepreneur’s diet and supplements
The businessman’s initial blood test revealed a darkened color indicative of poor health. Subsequent testing, however, showed a marked improvement in blood color. After five days of the detox program, laboratory results confirmed significant progress, particularly in the normalization of liver enzyme levels.Emotional detox
Cathy Turvill, NWV’s founder and a certified health and wellness coach, emphasized the program’s holistic benefits.
“Detoxification isn’t just physical,” she explained. “The quiet reflection during fever baths provides emotional cleansing.” Turvill also introduced a workbook to help the businessman define his purpose, motivations and sources of happiness, as well as a “Wheel of Wellness” worksheet to assess various life areas.
Complemented by a hyperbaric oxygen therapy session at Asian Hyperbaric Healthcare Inc., the five-day program left the businessman revitalized. His complexion brightened, and his skin appeared healthier and less wrinkled. He left the country with optimism.
Meanwhile, an executive checkup revealed that Turvill’s husband, Mike, cofounder of NWV and an organic chemist, had high blood pressure and was at risk for a heart attack. Dr. Dizon promptly developed a comprehensive 30-day program for the Turvills, incorporating Dr. Orense’s drips, supplements and other recommendations. Within two weeks, Mike’s blood pressure and sugar levels normalized, and he experienced significant weight loss and increased vitality.
“He looks decades younger,” Dr. Orense remarked. “His haggard appearance has vanished, replaced by a refreshed look.”She cautioned against the rampant misuse of “stem cell therapies” in other establishments. “Drips are now offered in day spas, often administered by unqualified personnel, with unknown ingredients. When dosage of the ingredients are low, the patients don’t see results even after 10 sessions,” she warned.
“Our approach is doctor-prescribed, doctor-supervised to ensure safety and accountability. NWV’s full holistic program includes antioxidant supplements, relaxation, detoxification and immersion in nature. The serene environment contributes to overall well-being, allowing patients to recharge and better handle life’s stressors.” —CONTRIBUTED INQ
