Going the extra mile

“Running is about finding your inner peace, and so is a life well lived.” – Dean Karnazes

Running is more than just a physical activity. It is an enduring symbol of life’s journey. Highlighting the importance of staying strong and moving forward, running is all about perseverance, courage, and determination to never give up. Even if my marathon days are long over, the runner in me stays alive in my short workouts and reconnecting with my Girls Run For Breakfast gang. We have all moved to other activities like pickleball, Zumba, and golf but we still run/walk around the block and work out an appetite for a heavy breakfast!

My latest running shoes are from Saucony. They officially returned to the Philippine market with the opening of its first store in the country, located on the second floor of the new Park Triangle Mall in 32nd Street corner 11th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

The store is operated by Manila Running Company (MRC), a mono-brand specialty retail concept in partnership with Saucony distributor GomaSportika. At the heart of the assortment is the Endorphin series, Saucony’s flagship performance platform built for speed—spanning propulsive, carbon-plated racers for race day and tempo work alongside lighter, non-plated trainers that deliver the same fast, responsive ride for daily mileage and speed sessions. The lineup is rounded out by a strong lifestyle offering, anchored by artistic collaborations that have helped position Saucony as a genuine streetwear and sneaker-culture player alongside its performance roots.

After a quick analysis of my feet for correct sizing and pronation using the foot scanner, the expert staff gave me the best options. With so many colorful designs, I decided to get three pairs. I will surely use one pair in my next run.

Bringing fun and purpose together

Last June, I joined the fun run of Wilcon Depot but I just enjoyed the after-run festivities. Embodying its commitment to building stronger communities through collaboration and shared purpose, Wilcon Depot successfully held its first-ever Wilcon 10-Miler Run at Parqal, Aseana City, Parañaque City.

The event brought together more than 3,000 runners for a meaningful celebration of health, community, and purpose.

As part of the event, Wilcon Depot also held a ceremonial awarding for its beneficiaries—TV5 Foundation’s Alagang Kapatid, Crocodylus Porosus Philippines, Inc., and ABS-CBN Foundation’s Bantay Kalikasan—together with representatives and executives from Wilcon Depot.

As Wilcon Depot’s brand ambassador, I am happy to support the company’s generous efforts to give back and provide the best options for building materials. With over 100 branches already open, they service the entire nation with the widest selection and options.

Wilcon Depot continues to strengthen its presence nationwide with the opening of its newest store in Cauayan, Isabela on July 31, 2026. Known as the “Innovative City of the North” and recognized as the Philippines’ first Smarter City, Cauayan continues to advance through technology, innovation, and sustainable development.
With its newest branch, Wilcon Depot brings trusted home improvement and construction products, along with smart building solutions, closer to the community—making construction, renovation, and home improvement more convenient and accessible.

Tate the modern man

With our Red Charity Gala just months away, I have been busy looking for sponsors and I am so delighted that Filipino wellness and lifestyle brand IAM Worldwide will support us again. The company recently brought in Thai British actor and rising youth icon Tate Myron as their brand ambassador. He makes a stylish Philippine debut gracing the cover of Metro Magazine, bringing with him the kind of effortless international appeal and good looks that are hard to ignore.

The visit involved nonstop work and shoots, giving a glimpse into why this young actor is steadily becoming one of Asia’s most exciting new personalities to watch.

Now, with his Metro cover, Tate takes center stage in a fashion-forward editorial that captures the sophistication and confidence of a generation that moves seamlessly between cultures, cities, and creative pursuits.

At just the beginning of his career, Tate represents the new breed of Asian talent: polished yet approachable, globally influenced yet distinctly himself. His Thai British heritage adds to his international appeal, while his growing fanbase continues to follow his every move.

His Manila appearance also underscores the Philippines’ growing place in the regional entertainment and lifestyle scene, where international talents increasingly find themselves collaborating with homegrown brands and creative forces. Tate is represented in the Philippines by the leading celebrity PR agency, PublicityAsia.

Language of elegance

Another face to watch is Anya Lagman. She is the Tatler digital cover and was honored recently at the Avignon Clinic Grand Alabang. The event covered three remarkable milestones in the journey of Anya: her surprise birthday celebration, the successful launch of her Tatler digital cover, and the exclusive premiere of “Golden Glow,” her original composition created for Avignon Clinic and performed by Julie Anne San Jose.

Guests were then treated to the first viewing of “Golden Glow” music video, a heartfelt collaboration that captures Avignon Clinic’s philosophy of transformation, self-confidence, and embracing one’s unique brilliance.

A highlight of the evening was the inspirational message from Charmaine Lagman, who shared her pride and admiration for her daughter’s journey. The celebration also marked a meaningful new chapter as Charmaine was officially welcomed as the newest brand ambassador of Avignon Clinic. She joins the brand’s mission of inspiring more people to embrace wellness, longevity, and science-driven beauty.
