In October, the Austrian Embassy in Manila marked Austria’s National Day with a vibrant reception at Grand Hyatt Manila, celebrating 78 years of diplomatic ties between Austria and the Philippines.

Ambassador Johann Brieger emphasized Austria’s commitment to democratic values and international law, quoting philosopher Karl Popper on the importance of defending tolerance. He also highlighted the growing partnership between the two nations, with over 30,000 Filipinos living in Austria and strong business ties, including Austrian company Head’s new tennis ball production in Davao, which will create local jobs.
