Hearts and lanterns: a February celebration at Newport World Resorts
Valentine’s Day and Lunar New Year fall within the same seven days this February. Newport World Resorts responds by layering experiences across both occasions, allowing guests to navigate romance, cultural tradition, and shared celebration within a single destination.
Where it begins
Conveniently located across NAIA Terminal 3, Newport World Resorts offers stays across five international hotel brands. Guests choose based on preference: Hotel Okura Manila at Newport World Resorts for Japanese-inspired luxury, Manila Marriott Hotel at Newport World Resorts for full-service hospitality, Hilton Manila Newport World Resorts for family-friendly comfort, Sheraton Manila Hotel at Newport World Resorts for contemporary social spaces, or Holiday Inn Express Manila Newport World Resorts for streamlined convenience. The range allows couples celebrating romance, families marking Lunar New Year, and solo travelers to anchor their visit according to their own priorities.
Over 70 dining outlets, performance venues, and retail spaces create the framework where both holidays unfold. Newport Mall signals the celebrations early. Lanterns mark pathways. Lion dances move through public areas with drumbeat accompaniment. Between February 14 and March 3, Harmony of Lights transforms The Plaza into synchronized sound and light.

Shared tables for two celebrations
Man Ho, the MICHELIN-recognized Cantonese restaurant at Manila Marriott Hotel, centers the Lunar New Year experience around Lo Hei—the prosperity toss performed at tables of five (PHP 5,888 nett) or ten (PHP 8,888 nett). Poon Choi arrives for families at PHP 25,888 nett for five persons, abundance presented in a traditional basin.

Solo travelers and couples find extended dining at Happy 8’s Lunar New Year Dim Sum All-You-Can (PHP 1,688 nett), where 34 handcrafted items allow leisurely exploration. Valentine’s gatherings take shape at Marriott Café’s buffet on February 13-14, featuring lobster, oysters, and premium meats at PHP 3,888 nett.

Curated dining experiences
For couples seeking quieter settings, Yamazato at Hotel Okura Manila, a MICHELIN-selected Japanese fine dining restaurant caters to this. Valentine’s kaiseki runs February 9-15 at PHP 8,000++ per person, while Lunar Bento follows through February 17 at PHP 3,000++ per person.

CRU Steakhouse offers its Valentine’s four-course menu on February 13-14, built around Australian Portoro Ribeye at PHP 6,888+, alongside Valentine’s set menus that gives guests an option to choose their main course. At Hilton Manila’s Vega Poolside, Executive Chef Lord Carlo Bayaban presents “The Art of Filipino Courtship” on February 14—a five-course journey from Ensaladang Lato to Sylvanas de Maria Clara, starting at PHP 15,000 for two.
Beyond dining
Champions of the Heart brings five celebrated Filipino vocalists—Martin Nievera, Sofronio Vasquez, Jed Madela, Jona, Klarisse de Guzman—to the Marriott Grand Ballroom on February 14 at 8:00 PM. Tickets range from PHP 3,800 to PHP 13,500.
For a nostalgic Valentine’s and Lunar New Year celebration, Bagets The Musical extends the celebration. The 1984 source material speaks to multiple generations within the same audience—running through March 2026 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, tickets range from PHP 1,000 to PHP 4,000.
Smaller moments fill the spaces between: Valentine’s serenades at The Plaza on February 14, a photo wall at Newport Mall from February 1-14, dragon dances appearing across multiple dates. The Year of the Fire Horse’s energy reaches solo travelers, families, and couples discovering the celebrations together.
