Back in the ’90s, my grandfather was kidnapped. It was only Inquirer that accurately reported the truth—that our family paid the ransom but the mayor made it look like my angkong was rescued.
I also read Tina Juan’s column as a teen, and I’m thankful that her no-nonsense approach to fitness saved me from sham diets and all other crazy fitness trends. To this day I’m still critical of new diets. I miss her column tbh. (Real name withheld upon request)
