It’s anime season this month
2025 certainly didn’t disappoint when it came to anime with shows like “Gachiakuta,” “The Summer Hikaru Died,” “Sakamoto Days,” “Dan Da Dan,” “My Dress-Up Darling,” and more.
And for 2026, it looks like we’re taking it up another notch. Highly awaited continuations such as the third season of “Jujutsu Kaisen” and the second season of “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” were just released. Meanwhile, new kids on the block such as “The Demon King’s Daughter is Too Kind!!” and “Sentenced to Be a Hero” already have anime fans talking about them.
Now, that’s how you start off the year.

“Jujutsu Kaisen” Season 3
Arguably the hottest anime in recent memory, the highly awaited third season of “Jujutsu Kaisen” picks up right where we ended—a bittersweet moment where the villain’s masterplan is revealed and is put into action, just when our main cast thought they had succeeded in stopping it.
For its third season, Yuji, the rest of Jujutsu High, and other allies head into the unknown without Satoru Gojo. How will they fare?

“Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” Season 2
Elves are notorious for living long lives, as explored in popular franchises such as “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit.” While often left behind as an afterthought, “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End,” takes it a step further, putting viewers in the mind of an elf who remains still—as both time and her cherished friends slowly pass her by.
The result? A groundbreaking anime that is retrospective yet thrilling to watch.

“Fire Force” Season 3 Cour 2
Fighting fire with fire? “Fire Force” already had us hooked with the premise of firefighters going up against the mysterious phenomena of “spontaneous human combustion.”
But now, with its unexplained in-universe connection to another anime, “Soul Eater,” “Fire Force” is heading toward a highly anticipated conclusion that we’re all waiting to see.

“Hell’s Paradise” Season 2
In a world where Gabimaru, an all-powerful ninja, proved to be unkillable—where different execution methods, from hanging and burning, were ineffective—he would appear to be normal compared to the otherworldly horrors on the island of Shinsenkyo.
Where is the elixir of life? Who are the god-like beings protecting the island? The anime’s second season looks further into the mysteries of “Hell’s Paradise.”
“My Hero Academia: Vigilantes” Season 2
The recently concluded “My Hero Academia” told the story of Izuku Midoriya and how he became the greatest hero of his time. This prequel series introduces us to Koichi Haimawari, an individual with just as much heroism in him as Izuku, but a vigilante whom society never truly acknowledges.
Given that it is a prequel, it also brings us around a “My Hero Academia” world before everything else—if anything, the calm before the storm.

“Sentenced to Be a Hero”
Gone viral for its one-hour first episode, “Sentenced to Be a Hero” knows what it takes to hit the ground running. And its premise? A world where heroism is a punishment, and its criminals are sentenced to endless servitude.

“Kaya-chan Isn’t Scary”
Kaya-chan can come across as a little creepy, but she means no harm and is often misunderstood. Rather, she’s a psychic who sees evil spirits and protects her friends and family from them.

“The Demon King’s Daughter is Too Kind!!”
A daughter’s love can warm even the coldest hearts, and not even the Demon King Ahriman stood a chance against the sweet Dou. What more for us viewers?
Looks like “Spy x Family’s” Anya Forger has a rival now.

“The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife”
Traditional beauty standards won’t work in a world where humans, demi-humans, and monsters coexist. An office romance in a small detective agency between Tounome, an invisible man, and Yakou, who is blind, shows that there’s more to love than meets the eye.

“An Adventurer’s Daily Grind at Age 29”
Hajime Shinonome grew up dirt-poor and fought tooth and nail to become the adventurer he is today. But when he saves Lirui, an orphan who had been abandoned by her parents while inside a dungeon, he takes pity on the young child and brings her home. Looks like his quiet life won’t be as peaceful anymore.
