Jo Koy can’t wait to bring new show to Manila

“Josep” is back.

After two years, Filipino American comedian Jo Koy is set to return to Manila and bring on the laughs at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on June 21.

Presented by Live Nation Philippines, the one-night show is part of his ongoing world tour, “Just Being Koy.” Tickets go on sale today, March 14, via SM Tickets.

“I never take for granted that I get to live out my dream on the stage every week and this new tour is something special that I can’t wait to share with everyone,” Koy, who last performed in the country in 2022, said in a statement.

Born Joseph Glenn Herbert, Koy’s comedy draws heavily from his experiences growing up as a half-Filipino, half-Caucasian boy in the United States. His material also pokes fun at the hilarious and relatable quirks of being raised by a Filipino mom—one of his most reliable punchlines.

From his modest beginnings as an aspiring stand-up comic at a Las Vegas coffee shop, Koy would go on to find global success, and become a household name in the Philippines, thanks to his hit Netflix specials, “Live from Seattle” (2020), “Comin’ In Hot” (2019) and “In His Elements” (2020).

Aside from headlining sold-out tours, he has appeared on the big screen, top-billing such movies: “Easter Sunday” (2022), the first major Hollywood title that focuses on the Filipino American experience. Last year, Koy also made history by becoming the first Filipino American to host the Golden Globes Awards.
