The Le Monde d’Hermès kiosk has landed in Makati City. The quirky stall in classic orange has settled amid the greens and grays of the Courtyard in Ayala Triangle Gardens, at least until today. Inspired by Parisian newsstands designed by French architect Gabriel Divioud in 1857, the kiosk is dressed up in solihiya for its Philippine weekend stop.
Open to the public from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. until today, it’s a place where passersby can just waltz into an open area, pull up a chair to chill, or have their portraits done on the spot by artist Louis Ramos. They can also take home Le Monde d’Hermès magazines in mesh bags from the kiosk and folded paper horses by origamist Mimi Leocario.
During the opening on Friday, as a mild warm afternoon breeze blew, guests enjoyed some aperol with their sweet shrimp buns and orange and chocolate madeleines. Dalandan, calamansi and orange iced popsies were the perfect companion while waiting for personalized abanico by Stacey Go, calligraphy bookmark by NJ Catchuella and some potted portulaca flowers or heartleaf philodendron to adopt.
