No regrets over the things I did for love

Avatar
“Love is just a word until someone comes along and gives it meaning.” —Paulo Coelho

In the seasons of life, love always plays the leading role and dictates the course of events, relationships and circumstances. My entire life has been ruled by love and compassion. Although sometimes it gets me into trouble, I have no regrets over the things I did for love.

Love has been the main proponent in my decision-making for resolving many life issues and challenges. I try to insert reason and logic, but eventually my heart takes over. Because I grew up in a close-knit family, I was showered with so much affection and loving care. I continue these values with my own family unit as I lead my life being a single mother once again.

With all that my heart has been through these past few years, I feel I have become an expert with matters of love. So, when my cardio doctor brother, Dr. Andrew Prieto, asked me to be the guest speaker at a heart disease seminar at St. Luke’s, I gladly obliged.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death among women worldwide. International Wear Red Day is celebrated every first Friday of February to raise awareness of women’s heart health. In line with this advocacy, St. Luke’s Global City Heart Institute celebrated Wear Red Day with the theme “Rhythms of the Heart.” Doctors, nurses, and patients showcased their talents through spoken poetry and music, drawing inspiration from women’s heart health.

Through this event, St. Luke’s Heart Institute aims to make a difference by spreading awareness, promoting prevention, and encouraging heart-healthy lifestyles among women. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, St. Luke’s Global City Heart Institute continues to lead the way in transforming women’s heart health in the Philippines.

After my entertaining speech where I also commended the expert doctors and nurses at the Coronary Care Unit of St. Luke’s, I listened to the next guest, Karen Davila. She shared lots of insights on self-care and reducing stress, which is one of the leading causes of heart failure.

Inspiring couple

From the talk, I headed straight to Sangley Airport to catch the Alphaland plane to Balesin Island. I am excited to enjoy paradise after a long time. I will be also taping my pilot episode of “Love On Top” for Bilyonaryo News Channel (BNC). Feb. 15 is our target date of airing, so please stay tuned!

For one of the upcoming episodes, we will feature notable and inspiring couple, Batangas Gov. Dodo Mandanas and his wife, lawyer Angelica Chua-Mandanas. Our BNC crew filmed at the Batangas Capitol to showcase the impressive development of this province. The governor and his charming yet firm wife Angelica are busy with campaigning for the upcoming local elections for vice governor of Batangas. Between campaign duties, the couple enjoys dining out with friends. We were last together at the new Asian fusion restaurant, Halong, on Gamboa Street, Legaspi Village, Makati City.

A week ago, I was also in Lipa, Batangas, for the enchantingly beautiful wedding of Patrick Coard and Kifu Augousti. The wedding was magically set in a path of century-old trees at the Leviste Equestrian Park, and the sultry bride in Olivier Theyskens rode a stallion to meet her dashing French groom at the outdoor altar.

Every detail was meticulously attended to by the couple as well as the bride’s father, Yiouri Augousti. The events team of Tim Yap and Javi Martinez of Yaparazzi Events + PR and wedding coordinator Events by Amanda Tirol took care of all the guests’ needs.

Catering by Margarita Forés, performances of Ballet Philippines, and the flamenco dance of Guille Castillo added to a truly special celebration that was further highlighted by an electrifying band that was flown in from Paris. Truly, this wedding was so unforgettable and the best in my books!

Two days after the wedding, I hosted the first anniversary of Corso Como 88 (Visit Corso Como 88 at Level 3 One Ayala Mall in Makati City and at the ground floor of Ayala 30th in Pasig City.), a multibrand store for discerning shoppers seeking quality products and branded goods. It celebrated at its flagship store in One Ayala Mall, Makati City.
