Online gateway to natural healing resources

Avatar

NaHeal, the Philippines’ pioneering online wellness platform, connects individuals with natural healing resources and cultivates a supportive community. The name, a portmanteau of “natural healing,” arose from the founder’s personal search for readily available natural and spiritual solutions, eliminating the need to browse numerous websites.

Serial entrepreneur Annaliza Laxamana had long been skeptical of allopathic medicine. She found relief from her own physical pain through affirmations and focused energy. This conviction strengthened when her father faced kidney issues. Observing his consultations, she questioned the doctor’s detached manner. Despite medication, dialysis, and multiple ICU stays, he passed away at 77.

Following his death, Annaliza spent a month in Hawaii processing her grief, attending a mindfulness retreat, visiting spas, and engaging with various healers. Seeking respite from family challenges, she later traveled to Singapore, finding solace in its nature parks and exploring sound and energy healing, kundalini yoga, Ayurvedic detoxification, and other practices. A profound inner shift began, which she later understood through art therapy in the US, a practice that helped her process difficult emotions and build self-awareness.

It was this journey that led her to question the difficulty in finding alternative solutions for various concerns, particularly for individuals like herself who might not have specific ailments but seek natural well-being.

Quest for alternative solutions

Laxamana explains that if someone is seeking guidance, NaHeal serves as that resource. Those exploring alternative lifestyles will find concise explanations of various modalities such as breathwork, craniosacral therapy, and naturopathy. NaHeal also features partner wellness destinations such as The Farm at San Benito and Nurture Spa. Although a young website, it provides an impressive list of practitioners in diverse fields, including access bars therapy, tarot, relationship coaching, and Art4Healing, in which Laxamana is a certified facilitator.

The NaHeal Exclusives offer customized retreats for groups, providing insightful sessions with experienced facilitators and fitness experts. “Corporate clients need these services,” says Laxamana. “We already have certified practitioners we want to support through the NaHeal platform. For instance, as a practitioner, you or your program can be part of the NaHeal Exclusive. Right now, corporate offerings are often just superficial team building, and we aim to elevate that.”

Laxamana clarifies that the company operates on both B2B and B2C models. It connects partners to serve the “seekers,” or customers—the B2C aspect—which, in turn, helps these partners reach a wider audience. She notes that the Philippines has many beautiful, lesser-known locations, such as provincial Airbnbs and resorts, that could be transformed into wellness centers or retreats. A core part of their mission is to identify and develop these places into wellness spaces, envisioning them beyond traditional lodging.

She adds, “If these venues don’t have connections with practitioners, we have a list of certified professionals they can access. That’s another way we provide support—by connecting venues and fostering mutual growth.”

The website also features a marketplace for organic products, currently offering Coco Veda products, a Singaporean social enterprise producing oils and balms. NaHeal intends to broaden its product offerings with items not yet widely available.

Laxamana explains, “Part of our mission is to also help farmers. Even though Coco Veda is an imported brand, its manufacturing is in the Philippines, so we’re also supporting our partners as part of our mission. NaHeal is about building a holistic health and wellness hub. It’s not just about selling products; we want to understand the story behind them. Let’s unite all our missions.”

She acknowledges that NaHeal is still in its early stages, describing it as a “calling” rather than just another business venture. The website continues to grow under the administration of her son, Joshua. Future plans include schedules for retreats and the inclusion of more practitioners from other countries.

“This is a Filipino company that we want to promote globally,” she states. “Bali isn’t the only destination for wellness; the Philippines has so much to offer. I believe NaHeal is a conduit to reach out and help, both for individuals seeking well-being and for businesses, because its impact multiplies. Personally, I see myself as simply a ‘vessel.’ Why else would God keep sending all these ideas?”
