Reframe and refocus

“Nothing is a waste of time if you use the experience wisely.” – Auguste Rodi
Time is what you make of it so spend it wisely for it will never return. Time and again, we are told not to waste our energy on matters that do not promote our well-being or personal growth. But sometimes, these problems and issues cover so much of our precious time. Utilizing our skills and abilities to improve ourselves or leveraging time and talent to advance professionally are daily choices we need to embark to make our time on Earth more meaningful. Offering our time and contributing to a cause are purposeful acts of charity that really feed our souls and build a foundation of love and compassion.

With all the negative issues surrounding us lately, we all need to do our part in the promotion of our country and its people. In reframing all these negative thoughts, my daily practice of gratitude and yoga keeps me focused on my true purpose. Realizing my love journey is constantly changing, I have engaged in activities that bring me joy and fulfillment instead of focusing on matters of the heart.

At my fun guesting at The Daily Dish in Bilyonaryo News Channel, I talked about the state of my heart and our upcoming Red Charity Gala (RCG). I shared our plans with hosts Ferdi Salvador, Monique Tuzon, and Mai Rodriguez. With one week to go, RCG co-chair Kaye Tinga and I are so busy ironing out all details to ensure another successful Gala featuring Rhett Eala at The Peninsula Manila on Oct. 4. We are grateful to our annual partner Bench and our major sponsors this year—Arthaland and Globe Platinum. We are excited to present so many new auction items that our generous guests will hopefully bid for charity.

This year, we have a new sponsor, NUSTAR Online, the Philippines’ premier luxury online entertainment platform. The sophistication of Cebu’s most iconic integrated resort expands into a digital experience that is indulgent, secure, and accessible to every Filipino.
From its sleek interface to curated game offerings, NUSTAR Online is designed for Filipinos who value both entertainment and refinement. Every detail of the platform reflects NUSTAR’s vision: a seamless fusion of world-class leisure and online convenience. Big stars Bea Alonzo and Andrea Brillantes are the new faces of NUSTAR Online.

In Bea, NUSTAR Online finds a reflection of its promise: a platform that is grounded in trust, elegance, and an unwavering standard of excellence.
On the other end of the spectrum is Andrea Brillantes, a Gen Z superstar whose rise has been fueled by boldness, authenticity, and charisma. She speaks to a new generation of Filipinos—one that lives digitally and plays without boundaries. For Andrea, NUSTAR Online is not only a platform for entertainment but also a stage where individuality and youthful ambition shine.

“Luxury is not just a destination; it is a way of life, and this is what NUSTAR Online brings to Filipinos,” said Krizia Cortez, NUSTAR Online director of public relations. “We are turning the ordinary moments into extraordinary entertainment experiences that are secure, stylish, and rewarding–all at your fingertips.”
We also have on board Crate & Barrel furniture pieces for auction during dinner. Crate and Barrel Philippines recently hosted the third edition of Portraits of Life, an annual tradition that goes beyond showcasing interiors to celebrating how design shapes the way we live.

Hosted by Ferdi Salvador, the event was opened by Steven Ticzon, vice president and business unit head of Crate and Barrel Philippines. In his remarks, Steven highlighted the evolution of Portraits of Life from a product showcase into a meaningful gathering of stories.
“At its heart, this event is about how design shapes the way we live, from the way we gather and celebrate, to how we recharge, create, and connect at home,” said Steven. “What makes this tradition special is that it reflects not just design trends, but the diverse lifestyles and personal stories of the people who inspire our brand the most.”

Attendees were also treated to Crate and Barrel’s newest collection, a line designed around easy elegance, blending livable comfort with elevated style. Featuring soft tones, rich textures, and intentional details, the collection offers versatile pieces perfect for cozy evenings or elevated entertaining.
Bringing the spirit of the collection to life, Crate and Barrel highlighted five personalities whose homes embody unique lifestyles and stories: Jet Azucar, a design enthusiast and content creator best known as The Forewoman; Marilen Elizalde, a lifestyle coach and yoga instructor who infuses wellness into her home; Geri Lamata, a homemaker and supermom with a love for family gatherings; JP Mallo, a brand storyteller and wellness innovator; and Shauna Jay Popple, a global traveler and gracious host.

Next weekend, Crate and Barrel will have a special sale to start the holiday season merriment.
Keeping my spirits high, I totally enjoyed watching “The Bodyguard The Musical” at Rockwell’s Proscenium Theater. It officially opened its doors with this stellar cast staged by 9 Works Theatrical. With its compelling story, music, and choreography, the production gives theatergoers a reason to experience the newly opened venue, where it continues to run until October. Praised by the press as a stellar production with an outstanding cast, it’s a show worth catching—or even revisiting—while it’s on stage.

I am just so proud of my good friend Tim Yap who plays the role of Sy Spector. He was called upon by the producers because they wanted someone like him. And when Tim said yes, he had to commit to the production and cancel many other events including being my co-auctioneer at RCG! But in the end, Tim shared that it was all worth it. With the talented and stellar cast members, Tim is humbled and has gained an enriching experience.
Catch The Bodyguard at the Proscenium Theater until next month only.
