Strauss society hosts Viennese ball

The Johann Strauss Society of the Philippines (JSSP), in cooperation with the City of Vienna, is hosting a Viennese Ball and Presentation of Debutantes on June 25, 2025 at the Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-la Hotel.

Patterned after the traditional Viennese Balls, it will include a Grand Waltz by debutantes and a musical program featuring the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, to be conducted by Maestro Rainer Roos, artistic director of the Strauss Capelle in Vienna, who will fly in for this occasion.

Leading soprano Rachelle Gerodias and baritone Byeong In Park will perform arias from “Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss II and “The Merry Widow” by Franz Lehar.
