The art of sport, the craft of Louis Vuitton

Fashion and sports share more than a passing flirtation—they are united by discipline, creativity, and the ability to captivate, whether on the runway or the court. Louis Vuitton’s return to the 2026 Australian Open proves this partnership is as dynamic as it is enduring.

Since being named the Official Trophy Trunk Partner in 2023, the Maison has created bespoke trunks for the tournament’s most prestigious awards—the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup and the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup. The trunks were unveiled ahead of the finals by notable figures and brand ambassadors, merging the worlds of fashion and sport in perfect harmony.

At the women’s singles final, Thai singer, rapper, and Louis Vuitton house ambassador BamBam joined American tennis legend Jennifer Capriati to present the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup in its Louis Vuitton Trophy Trunk. BamBam wore a dark brown double-breasted jacket paired with tailored trousers, a crisp white shirt, and polished black derbies—an ensemble that echoed Louis Vuitton’s balance of modernity and classic refinement. The title was claimed by Elena Rybakina after a thrilling three-set match against Aryna Sabalenka.

The celebration of style and sport carried seamlessly into the men’s singles final, where Louis Vuitton ambassador Carlos Alcaraz secured his first Australian Open title with a four-set victory over Novak Djokovic.

Ahead of the match, American actress and Louis Vuitton ambassador Chloë Grace Moretz, alongside tennis legend Marat Safin, presented the iconic Norman Brookes Challenge Cup. Moretz embodied the Maison’s bold creativity in a black crinkled vinyl jacket and matching skirt, accented by white LV Knot pumps and Le Damier de Louis Vuitton fine jewelry earrings and ring set with yellow diamonds.

A winning partnership

Now in its third year, Louis Vuitton’s partnership with the Australian Open brings the Maison’s dedication and artistry to tennis. The bespoke trunks, first introduced at the 2024 finals, have become a symbol of the tournament’s prestige, combining Louis Vuitton’s heritage with the intensity of Grand Slam competition.

Each trunk is handcrafted by expert artisans at Louis Vuitton’s historic Asnières workshops in France. The classic Monogram canvas and leather trims pay homage to the brand’s 19th century roots, while the interiors, lined in blue microfiber, echo the Australian Open’s signature court color.

The trunks are further distinguished by a bold white “V” emblazoned on the front panels, symbolizing both Victory and Vuitton, a subtle reminder of the connection between sport, success, and style. The Australian Open logo embossed on the lid reinforces the bespoke nature of the collaboration, transforming each trunk into a unique showcase for tennis’s most prestigious trophies.

Through these bespoke creations, Louis Vuitton and the Australian Open showcase their shared commitment to heritage, innovation, and the celebration of excellence, resonating both on and off the court.
