The scents of Paris

Avatar

At the core of Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s aesthetic lies Paris, an inexhaustible source of inspiration for its namesake creator. In 2016, the perfumer wanted to share some of his deepest emotions through two sillages that became icons—Petit Matin and Grand Soir.

These two eau de parfum embody fleeting moments of a beauty so spectacular that they remain engraved in memory forever—the City of Lights, from dawn to dusk.

Waking up in the early morning and escaping through Paris in the half-light. Strolling through the streets and under the stilldeserted arcades. As the sun comes up, its rays peak through the rooftops of the capital and the city now wears its glittering veil. The Seine twinkles with a thousand reflections, the zinc rooftops take on a blue-gray hue. It’s the early morning with Petit Matin, and Paris is peacefully waking up.

Petit Matin whispers of a delicious freshness, the first hint of a radiant day ahead. Orange blossom, the essences of Litsea cubeba and lavender dominate the composition of this bright and radiant eau de parfum. The powdery sweetness of the hawthorn accord creeps into the core notes, while the musky accord with ambroxan underlines the majesty of the base notes.

Finally, the grand evening! Monuments are illuminated, covering every bridge and street corner with light. Like a prelude to the lights of the city, the sky is painted in dazzling colors, a feast for the eyes that lifts the spirits.

With Grand Soir, the evening is tinged with a copper halo; gold sculptures and domes shine before surrendering to the mysteries of the night.

Ambery and woody, vibrant and captivating, Grand Soir is bursting with sensuality. At first, the depth of an accord of Cistus labdanum paired with lavender and cinnamon tree leaves is revealed, while the sweet warmth of a vanilla amber accord with accents of benzoin prevails in the base notes.
