Timeless Filipiniana at Kultura pop-up series

Filipiniana is the ultimate love song to our national identity. Without having to say a word, the distinct stiff curve of the terno sleeve, the delicate sheerness of the barong or the unique bold patterns of handloomed weaves can be heard like an insupressible hum or a well-timed birit.
Starting this month until the end of the year, Kultura highlights the timeless yet fresh appeal of Filipiniana by bringing together works that play kundiman with an updated beat, so to speak.

“Burda at Habi: The Artistry of Filipino Fashion” pop-up showcases local apparel and adornments that celebrate traditional crafts, like weaving and embroidery, created with a modern tone.
The collection boasts a wide range of handpicked casual and formal wear, as well as handcrafted bags and statement accessories, that are rich in heritage and style, featuring in-house brands like Raffaella, Nuevo Ystilo, EN Barong Filipino and guest brands such as Alixia Marie, Anmari, Azucar, Binibini Marikit, Daryl Maat, Matthew and Melka, Mjorian, Pamanna Jewellery, and Pampinay.

The main pop-up kicked off at Kultura in SM Mall of Asia until May 20, with a meet-and-greet with timeless Filipina beauty, Kultura ambassador Marian Rivera. Succeeding pop-ups, featuring only in-house brands, will be in Kultura outlets in SM Baguio, SM Sta. Rosa, SM Iloilo, and SM Southmall, from May 29 to June 12.
