Tomato seedlings for life, renewal and growth
The Embassy of Israel in the Philippines recently marked Israel’s 76th Independence Day with a solemn reception at the New World Makati Hotel.
Israel Ambassador Ilan Fluss highlighted the significance of this year’s event, emphasizing the enduring resilience and pride of the Israeli people.
He also extended his gratitude to President Marcos for his support and solidarity with Israel, particularly following recent conflicts, and recalled the Filipino caregivers who tragically lost their lives in the ongoing war, acknowledging their courage and sacrifice.
The evening celebrated the strong bond between Israel and the Philippines, recognizing the Filipino community’s support and the significant contributions of the 28,000 overseas Filipino workers in Israel.
Special appreciation was given to those who volunteered in Israel, reflecting the bayanihan spirit.
The event also featured a musical performance by Rose Fostanes, the Filipina “X Factor: Israel” winner, who delighted guests with a song by Israeli singer Eden Golan.
In a symbolic gesture of hope and innovation, the Embassy distributed cherry tomato seedlings, representing life, renewal and growth.
