Why giving birth at this hospital feels like a five-star hotel stay

Each pregnancy has its challenges,” said actress Kristine Hermosa-Sotto, who birthed her sixth child, Isaiah Timothy, in September 2024. This is why, when it comes to bringing life into the world, she prefers the comforting glow of a hospital that feels more like a five-star hotel.

Hermosa-Sotto, along with fellow celebrity mom Angeline Quinto, chose St. Luke’s Medical Center, Bonifacio Global City for their latest births, citing comfort, attentive care, and a sense of familiarity as key reasons.

“What we’ve always liked about St. Luke’s is that it doesn’t feel like a hospital, even back when I had my first child here. It’s like staying in a hotel,” Hermosa-Sotto shared in an interview uploaded to St. Luke’s YouTube channel: “Everyone was so hands-on. I felt special. They made us feel like we had nothing to worry about. I’m very thankful.”

Even after undergoing an emergency C-section, Hermosa-Sotto said the environment remained reassuring and calm, helping her feel supported throughout the experience.

Quinto, who gave birth to daughter Azena Sylvia just weeks before Hermosa-Sotto, echoed the sentiment: “When I arrived at St. Luke’s a day before giving birth, I immediately felt comfortable, like I was being treated like family. When I gave birth to Sylvia, it was like the staff became her moms, too,” she said, laughing. “My son Sylvio even knows the names of all my nurses.”

She added: “It’s funny because my room looked like a hotel. You wouldn’t even think it’s a hospital until you step outside. I even told them, ‘Ang sarap ng pagkain dito.’”

Elevated services

That luxurious hotel-hospital hybrid vibe is no accident. This year, St. Luke’s has elevated its maternity services with the “Nurturing Beginnings 2025” package, a thoughtfully curated offering that goes beyond clinical care to deliver a more pampered experience.

Expectant moms who book a private room are entitled to a 20-percent discount on hospital fees for both normal and cesarean deliveries, according to St. Luke’s OB-GYNE head Catherine Grace Lim.

She added that the goal behind this year’s promo is simple but meaningful: “We wanted to provide expectant mothers with an exceptional and memorable experience, something that supports not only their medical needs, but also enhances their overall journey into parenthood.”

And enhance it they did. The package includes up to 24-hour access to the labor room for normal deliveries, full delivery room services, postoperative and postdelivery care, and newborn vaccines like BCG, Hepatitis B, and Vitamin K.

Newborns also receive essential ancillary services, like eye ointment application—because it’s often the smallest details that make the biggest difference in a baby’s first moments.

But here’s where things get extra special: the welcome bundle. We’re talking a Chicco Next2Me cosleeping crib, a Chicco baby carrier, an elegant Orias Mom and Baby Bag, curated newborn essentials, a celebratory three-course meal, and even Thayers skincare treats for mom.

“We wanted to create a gift that truly adds warmth during this special time,” Lim explained. “Each item was chosen to give moms value, comfort, and joy.”

Compared to last year’s “Blissful Package,” which leaned into quantity—with more outfits, strollers, and a streamlined discharge process—the 2025 edition focuses on quality and emotional care.

Premium gifts

Hospital stays are now more clearly defined, too: two nights for normal deliveries and four for cesarean sections, depending on room availability. Moms will still receive lactation counseling, but the spotlight this year is on comfort rather than paperwork.

“Our shift to more premium gifts, like the Chicco crib, reflects our standard of care,” added Lim, “These aren’t just baby items—they’re tools to help moms feel supported in those precious first weeks.”

And the response has been overwhelming, said Lim. “We’ve had moms sharing their stories online, making TikTok videos, even unboxing their St. Luke’s welcome kits,” she added. “It’s becoming a moment—giving birth at St. Luke’s is now something people look forward to, not just medically but emotionally.”

And they’re not stopping there. Lim hinted at future enhancements, including expanded postpartum support and deeper lactation counseling in upcoming rollouts.

The goal is to create a seamless journey from pregnancy to parenthood. And affordability hasn’t been left behind. “We believe in balancing premium care with accessible options,” said Lim. With the 20 percent discount, the “Nurturing Beginnings” promo brings St. Luke’s signature high-quality service closer to more growing families.

The promo runs from Feb. 1 to Dec. 31, 2025, and is open to patients undergoing either normal or cesarean delivery—as long as they book a private room and sign the contract before admission. St. Luke’s encourages moms-to-be to consult with their ob-gyn during the third trimester to explore their options and secure their slot.
