30-year-old CAMPI on the cusp of big change
As we slowly approach at the cusp of another new chapter in our motoring lives, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) recently marked a big milestone as it officially launched its 30th Anniversary Coffee Table Book, “a commemorative publication honoring three decades of unity, innovation, and nation-building within the Philippine automotive industry.”
CAMPI chairman and Congressman Jose Chavez Alvarez and CAMPI president Atty. Rommel R. Gutierrez led the launch event held at Seda Hotel in BGC, Taguig City. Together with them were members of the CAMPI Board of Trustees, executive committee, distinguished industry partners, stakeholders and the media.
For them, the Coffee Table Book serves as memorabilia of CAMPI’s journey since the beginning, etched on glossy pages immortalizing the organization’s legacy. The book consists of a visual and historical narrative of CAMPI’s inception, storytelling significant industry developments, regulatory milestones, market growth, and the collective efforts of each member-brands which shaped the lives of Filipino motorists through the years.
“This coffee table book is more than just a compilation of images and timelines — it is a celebration of our shared achievements as an industry,” shared Atty. Gutierrez, emphasizing the importance of this publication in preserving CAMPI’s legacy.
“Over the past 30 years, CAMPI has witnessed transformative changes in policy, technology, and market behavior. This commemorative book allows us to honor the challenges we overcame, the partnerships we strengthened, and the progress that continues to move the Philippine automotive industry forward,” he further added.
Other than the book launch, CAMPI also divulged updates on one of the most-anticipated events in the industry — the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), scheduled for June 4–7, 2026 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila.
Gutierrez continued: “As CAMPI grows with more member-brands joining our mission, we remain fully committed to supporting a competitive, innovative, and sustainable automotive market.”
According to him, the road ahead brings new technologies, new mobility solutions, and increased expectations from consumers.
“That is why CAMPI will continue strengthening its four core pillars — Technology and Innovation, Sustainability, Road Safety, and Industry Development, to ensure that the Philippines is ready for the future of mobility.”
CAMPI’s leadership is set to turn a new leaf as Gutierrez has been at its helm for about a decade now. The man who will succeed Gutierrez as CAMPI president is set to be announced soon.
