“Since its launch in the Philippines, more than 800 CX-60 SUVs have been sold,” stated Mazda Philippines president and CEO, Steven Tan during the launch of their newly-upgraded model at Lakehall Events Place in Sta. Elena Golf and Country Club, Cabuyao, Laguna.
According to him, this makes the country the largest market for the CX-60 in Asia outside of Japan, a testament to the premium five-seater SUV being well-received by Filipino buyers.
“The new CX-60 enriches that by offering new refinements, making it even more unmatched in every way. These are much more than skin-deep, and are part of our commitment to continuous improvement,” he added.
Galloping beauty
Mazda has been recognized for its world-class style and design the world over. In short, the brand’s aesthetics is synonymous with no less than glory with its countless accolades. Every time a Mazda vehicle rolls out on the road, one envisions a magnificent beautiful stallion galloping through the horizon behind a panoramic sunset. The new CX-60 is an SUV with ideal proportions, with its long nose and rearward cabin design. The powerful grille with its iconic wing shape is highlighted by sweeping adaptive LED headlamps, featuring a distinctive lighting signature for a sleek look.
Its amazing panache caps 20-inch aluminum alloys with 235/50R20 tires, a panoramic sunroof, and a hands-free power tailgate with height memory adjustment. The 3.3 AWD HEV Turbo showcases the signature Mazda design with its machine-cut alloys, bar-type grille, bright chrome on the front fenders, side window moulding, and exhaust finishers.
On the other hand, the 3.3 AWD HEV Turbo-D Sport exudes a distinguished look with its black metallic alloys, dark honeycomb grille, dark side window moulding, dark exhaust garnish, and black side view mirrors.

Class-leading refinement upgraded further
The newly-introduced CX-60 boasts of upgraded features that further enhance its performance and comfort. This ups the ante of its class-leading style, quality, and refinement that has made it the leading edge of the Mazda Premium philosophy.
Significant updates are to its riding experience, such as the rear suspension now has softer rear springs and new bump stops for improved compliance, while the dampers with increased rebound rates help control vertical motion.
Meanwhile, front suspension sports dampers with firmer front compression rates and relocated front knuckle mounts for better stability, especially passing through uneven terrain. With this, a recalibrated steering and stability systems likewise improve overall balance.
This new suspension set-up perfectly suits Large Vehicle Platform. This front-engine rear-wheel drive mechanical layout delivers imposing strength and elegance, but also maximizes the driver’s potential by distributing the lateral and longitudinal workload between the two axles. Moreover, by placing the powertrain units at the center, this allows transmitting power to the road surface more efficiently. The unique packaging has reduced its turning radius to a compact 5.4 meters, smaller than other similarly-sized SUVs.
Driving performance enhanced
Furthermore, the Skyactiv-Drive eight-speed automatic also levels up with clutch control and hydraulic valve improvements, resulting in smoother and more responsive combustion-engine-to-electric motor transitions and a wider gear range for optimal balance.
At its heart is the pride of inline-six-cylinder engines, available in both gasoline and diesel variants. Inside, these upgrades spill over. New standards for interior quality, design, and technology are likewise abound. The latest generation Mazda Connect allows passengers to connect wirelessly via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while a 12-speaker Bose Sound system delivers exquisiteness.
The 3.3 AWD HEV Turbo sports aluminum and silver metallic accents, black nappa leather seats, and black leather interior upholstery; while the 3.3 AWD HEV Turbo-D Sport features graphite and gun metal accents, and tan nappa leather seats with quilted Leganu suede inserts.
The new Mazda CX-60 is available in three Takuminuri colors: Rhodium White Premium, Soul Red Crystal, and Machine Gray. The other colors being offered are: Jet Black, Sonic Silver, Platinum Quartz, and Deep Crystal Blue.
The vehicle comes in two new variants: The Mazda CX-60 3.3L AWD HEV Turbo – P 2,890,000 and the Mazda CX-60 3.3L AWD HEV Turbo-D Sport – P 2,990,000.
The price is inclusive of a five-year free service plan, covering the expenses of periodic maintenance at either six-month or 10,000-kilometer intervals, for up to five years or 100,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. This is on top of a three-year bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five-year hybrid battery warranty.
