Young hens, or pullets, are raised in climate-controlled, tunnel-ventilated houses until they reach egg-laying maturity. Once ready, they are transferred in specially designed cages to layer houses with controlled lighting, sound and temperature to ensure optimal comfort.
“Biosecurity is a top priority to maintain the high health status of the hens. Threats and challenges include disease outbreaks and risks coming from external sources. Apart from that, environmental factors, including the weather, and fluctuations in raw materials affect the chickens,” the company says.
Each hen lays approximately one egg per day, which is automatically transported through a conveyor belt system and elevators to the Egg Room for collection and processing—minimizing human handling and ensuring cleanliness and quality.
Strict standards are observed to ensure that the eggs brought to the market are fresh, clean and free from impurities. “Our quality management teams ensure that continuous improvements are at the core of our consistent outputs for all our sales channels,” the company says.

EGGcelsior’s farm operations have been highly mechanized, reducing human handling in egg collection and sorting to the minimum. The company says, “Our production, egg room, engineering and support teams, totaling over a 100 people work seamlessly to ensure that we produce clean, safe and quality fresh farm eggs.”
In fact, the team’s hard work and dedication enabled the company not just to survive during the corona virus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic but even to flourish. It opened 30 EGGcelsior outlets at the height of the health crisis. “This fueled our growth and made us the game changer in Cebu’s egg landscape,” the company says.
As EGGcelsior continues to scale its operations to achieve its goal of becoming the preferred brand in the Visayas, reliable logistics and mobility have become critical in supporting daily farm activities, from transporting supplies to distributing fresh eggs.
