All-new Nissan Kicks unveiled in Thailand ahead of PH launch

BANGKOK, Thailand – The all-new Nissan Kicks has just been unveiled at the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show held at the Impact Challenger Convention Center at Muang Thong Thani.

This newest offering from the Japanese carmaker is the fourth in Thailand’s stable of vehicles that feature the E-Power technology, notably the X-Trail and the Serena.

During the public launch of the all-new Kicks at the motor show, slated from March 23 to April 5, outgoing Nissan ASEAN and Thailand president Toshihiro Fujiki, in his speech, said, “For 73 years, Nissan has grown together with Thailand. we bring exciting products, nvest in local production and we stand with Thai people always.”

“Our purpose is clear:To enrich people’s lives.”

Fujiki continued by holding true to their promise of introducing new models, particularly their line of E-powered vehicles.

With the all-new Nissan Kicks unveiling, he also said that this newest model is “built for the active young generation with urban lifestyle.”

“With our well-known E-power technology, these vehicles are smooth, quiet and has instant power,” he added.

Kick of the new Kicks

This newest Kicks particularly “debuted with a significant redesign focusing on advanced technology, enhanced interior comfort, and updated exterior styling.”

Its redesigned exterior features a bold sporty look inspired by the “sneaker culture” with available 19-inch alloy wheels, two-tone paint options, and full-width LED taillights.

Inside, the cabin feels modern and spacious that sports the Nissan Zero Gravity seats for all occupants and a flat-bottom steering wheel. It has improved dual 12.3-inch high-resolution displays (infotainment and digital instrument cluster), with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

“There is this new moonstone color with more elegant touches, texture surfaces and wrapping,” shared newly-appointed Nissan ASEAN/president Masao Tsutsumi, along with his team of marketing specialists during a presentation with the Philippine media at their 200,000 sqm-plant located in Samut Prakan province.

“We really improved the comfort. Fatigue reduction is better by 30 percent compared to its predecessor. It has a new pad design and enhanced back angle,” Tsutsumi added. “This really has improved exterior and interior designs that the Filipino market will enjoy,” said the outgoing Nissan head honcho.

Safety-wise, the newest Kicks features some are the first-in-its class. It sports the

ProPiLOT technology, which consists of lane keeping assist, intelligent cruise contro, leading car departure notification, predictive forward collision warning, forward emergency braking with ped detection system, forward emergency braking and many others.

Under its hood is the familiar E-power system, now in its second generation, which uses a 1.2-liter engine, generating 136 hp elecrtic motor, providing a 100-percent electric driving feel without needing to plug in.

According to Tsustumi, the all-new Nissan Kicks is set to arrive in the Philippines at the latter part of the year. The model will be presented at the Philippine International Motor Show in June this year.
