Chery Auto PH achieves 82% growth

Ronald Rey M. delos Reyes

Chery Auto Philippines just posted one of its best sales performances yet.

Recently, the Chinese carmaker churned out 202 units in May 2026, achieving a massive 82-percent year-on-year uptrend.

For this year, in total, the brand, which is under United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI),

sold 762 units year-to-date, improving by 55.5 percent compared to 2025.

According to the company, the success of the brand stems from the brand’s growing portfolio of intelligent, electrified, and value-driven mobility solutions — as well as the increasing demand for electrified models.

“These results reflect the growing trust and confidence that Filipino consumers place in the Chery brand. Today’s motorists are more discerning than ever and are increasingly embracing electrified mobility solutions that deliver tangible everyday benefits,” brand head Franz Decloedt said.

He added that as more customers experience the value, innovation, and ownership journey that Chery offers, they remain committed to providing vehicle offerings that are intelligent, comfortable, and relevant to their evolving needs.

“This commitment continues to drive our mission of helping more Filipinos enjoy every journey with confidence and peace of mind. ”

Meanwhile, UAAGI deputy director Joshua Sytin noted that the market continues to present significant opportunities for brands that understand the evolving priorities of today’s motorists.

“Our performance reflects the increasing demand for vehicles that are intelligent, efficient, safe, and practical for modern Filipino families,” he said.

The REV effect

Chery’s own extended-range electric vehicle (EREV or REEV–or just simply REV) with the Tiggo is credited for the brand’s sales boost.

This seven-seater plug-in hybrid electric SUV currently accounts for over 57 percent of their total year-to-date sales and leads the PHEV sales among CAMPI members.

In particular, the Chery Tiggo rEV Luxury Edition (LE) starts at P1,528,000. It features a 1.5L turbocharged plug-in hybrid with a massive 204 hp and 310 N-m of torque. The vehicle is capable of 90 km pure EV range on a single charge and up to 1,400-km total range using a full tank of fuel.

In recent PHEV industry reports, the Tiggo rEV secured a big 25-percent share of the local plug-in market.

Globally, Chery Auto achieved historic global sales of over 2.8 million units in 2025, heavily bolstered by the success and five-star European and Australasian safety ratings of its rEV lineup, particularly the Tiggo 8.

Under UAAGI’s wings

UAAGI acquired Chery in 2019 and the brand has since grown to an extensive network of 25 dealerships nationwide. This may well then be attributed to its recent robust sales performance as this network continues to give the brand a strong presence in the various strategic locations, further enhancing aftersales ownership experience.

UAAGI’s automotive arm has been running the local scene for 20 years already and has thus established itself as a proven institution among Filipino motorists.

The company not only offers quality products, but also remains steadfast and dedicated to providing reliable aftersales services for customers of all its brands, thus ensuring a premium ownership experience.
