Chery new energy vehicle lineup showcased at MIAS
Chery Auto Philippines (CAP) is taking a significant stride towards a greener and sustainable future at this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) happening from April 4-7, 2024.
Chery is highlighting its latest lineup of new energy vehicles which are the two Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) Tiggo 7 PHEV and the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV. Chery’s full-electric vehicle eQ7 is also an eye-catcher to the Chery booth visitors.
Visitors are also able to visit the UAAGI Performance Center to test drive Chery’s Tiggo 5x Pro Hybrid, Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid, Tiggo 8 Pro 2.0 AWD, and Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV.
The Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV and the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV are powered by an internal combustion engine with two electric motors equipped with a 19.27kWh ternary lithium battery. With this technology, motorists can get a good balance between EV Mode for short trips and gasoline or hybrid modes for long distance travels.
The unique selling points of the Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV and Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV are as follows:
Safety and Technology. Both the Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV and Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV have around view monitors, 6 airbags, and are equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
Entertainment and Connectivity. Equipped with Sony eight-speaker Audio System, Dual 12.3-inch HD instrument panel and infotainment system with intelligent voice command, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Performance. These Plug-in Hybrid Electric vehicles have 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder mated to a three-speed DHT (Dedicated Hybrid Transmission). It has a combined power output of 325hp and 545 N-m of torque. The Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV can travel 80 km in pure EV mode while the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV has a pure EV range of 75km.
Interior and exterior. These vehicles have features that could make travels more enjoyable too. The Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV and Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV have auto-dimming rear-view mirror, multi-color ambient lighting with music rhythmic function, dual zone climate control, wireless mobile charger, panoramic sunroof, automatic LED front lighting system, integrated load-bearing roof rails, 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels.
The eQ7 is a full electric compact SUV with a driving range of more than 500 kilometers. This new addition to Chery’s New Energy Vehicle (NEV) lineup has four unique selling points:
Aerodynamic Design. The eQ7 has a minimalist streamlined styling with an ultra-low wind drag coefficient of 0.31. This is supported by an active grill system which intelligently closes or opens according to running conditions to effectively save on energy.
Outstanding Safety. Its all-aluminum body structure. The eQ7 also adopts an upgraded lithium iron phosphate battery, which has passed the test of the highest waterproof grade IPX9K. Meantime, the dual armor protection creates the safest battery in its class, providing long-lasting peace of mind.
Unparalleled Comfort. It has a class-leading long wheelbase which provides generous space for both driver and passengers. The eQ7 also has dual-zone air conditioning which is complemented with an air quality system. This purifies recirculating air complemented by a fragrance system that can be selected based on the driver or passenger’s preference. The eQ7 is also equipped with dual 12.3-inch screens and has a luxurious and futuristic interior.
Exceptional intelligent features. The eQ7’s L2+ semi-autonomous driving system includes a complete and multi-scenario Advanced Driver Assistance system which will make the drive easier and safe. It also has a Driver Monitoring System to monitor the state of the driver in real time providing safety and protection especially on long distance driving.
Chery’s NEV displays at MIAS aims to communicate to the people its objective to be at the forefront of change in promoting a new era of green mobility for its valued customers. This is also aligned with Chery’s global advocacy and vision to lead the future of new energy vehicle transportation. The Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV is indicatively priced at P1.8 M while the eQ7 is pegged to be priced at P2M.
With the introduction of the Tiggo 8 Pro Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) in 2022, CAP has started to boldly take its latest development path leading to more opportunities of electrification and intelligent transformation.

During his speech, Chery Auto Philippines managing director, Froilan Dytianquin, underscored the Q Power technology incorporated in all the Chery vehicles.
“All Chery models are equipped with Chery’s QPower technology to ensure that both technology and sustainability are both present in all its vehicles,” Dytianquin said.
QPower embodies Chery’s global pursuit of efficiency, sustainability, and intelligence in new energy vehicles. This architecture seamlessly blends powerful performance with sustainability, igniting a dynamic journey to green innovation.
“As the brand takes its game to the next level, Chery is starting to complement its current vehicle lineup with new energy derivatives such as Hybrids, PHEVs and new full Electric Vehicle models,” Dytianquin added.
Meantime, to hype up the brand’s booth even more, Chery’s very own Chery Tiggo Crossovers volleyball team is set to have a meet and greet with their fans on April 6 at 1:00pm.
