Customer care like no other

Running a new-car dealership is a tough job as it is.

But running three dealers, all under one of the most notable auto brands in the country, is a task that seems truly Herculean. But Maxwell Quillat of multi-brand vehicle distributor Frontier Automotive Marilao Corp. has been taking this in stride for the last five years.

Quillat is the Chief Operating Officer of three Chery Auto Philippines dealerships – Chery Auto Marilao on MacArthur Highway in Marilao, Bulacan, Chery Auto Alabang on the Alabang-Zapote Road in Muntinlupa City and Chery Auto GMA Cavite that opened its doors last year on Governor’s Drive in General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite.

These form part of the Chinese carmaker’s growing network of over 20 showrooms nationwide.

Competitive lineup

Quillat told Inquirer Motoring in an exclusive interview that their dealers’ clients have given highly positive feedback about their offerings.

“Our customers appreciate how Chery vehicles are stylish, high-quality and full of features and technology at affordable prices,” he said.

Presently, the Chery Auto Philippines lineup includes the Tiggo 2 Pro and Tiggo 5X Pro subcompact crossovers, the Tiggo 7 Pro compact crossover and the Tiggo 8 Pro seven-seat crossover.

The carmaker has also made serious headway into electrified mobility, particularly with the 5X Pro Hybrid and 7 Pro Hybrid. Its flagship model is the Tiggo 8 Pro Plug-In Hybrid, which combines a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-4 gasoline engine with an electric motor and a battery pack, offering a maximum range of up to 1,000 kilometers.

Excellent aftersales

Quillat also noted how Chery Auto Philippines’ industry-leading Premium Preserv aftersales package has helped provide customer care that has never been seen before in the Philippines. Premium Preserv follows the 5-3 system for all models except the Tiggo 2 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro – 5-year/150,000- kilometer (whichever comes first) bumper-to-bumper warranty and three years of free PMS.

Maintenance Service (PMS)

Meanwhile, the Tiggo 2 Pro gets a 5-year/150,000-kilometer (whichever comes first) bumper-to-bumper warranty.The Tiggo 8 Pro has a 7-year/200,000-kilometer (whichever comes first) bumper-to-bumper warranty and 3-year/30,000-kilometer (whichever comes first) of free PMS.

“The premium quality of the products at affordable prices, good aftersales and extensive parts availability has fuelled Chery Auto’s success locally, leading to loyal customers and industry-changing initiatives,” Quillat said.

Quillat likewise praised how United Asia Automotive Group Inc. has handled the brand in the Philippines.

“We are always grateful for the unwavering support of Chery, specifically its owner Rommel Sytin, in terms of how the dealers can make profit by giving subsidies for the units, giving good credit terms and listening to us,” he said.

“Mr. Sytin is very helpful and easy to talk to,” Quillat added. “We are very happy about the support they’re extending to us.”

I guess running three dealerships is much less stressful when you have a brand like Chery Auto Philippines behind you.
