Dongfeng state-of-the-art electric vehicle line at the 12th PHEVS
Dongfeng Motors Philippines (DFM) was elated to have joined the recent 12th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PHEVS), hosted by the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP).
With a theme: “Spark Change, Drive Electric”, the event, ran from October 24 to 26 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia,
Here, Dongfeng’s impressive lineup of electric vehicles, each tailored for the eco-conscious and forward-thinking Filipino, was on full display.
Nanobox
First was the Nanobox, the brand’s petite electric crossover. This battery-electric vehicle (BEV) is made to fit the needs of metropolitan commuters with a priority on efficiency and usefulness. The vehicle’s powertrain is mainly around a permanent magnet synchronous motor, which drives the front wheels and is powered by a 28.9kWh ternary lithium battery. The system produces 44 hp and 125 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 100 km/h for city driving.
The powertrain of the Nano Box, consisting of the electric motor and battery, is capable of a range of up to 351 km on a single charge.
At the show, it was offered with a P150,000 cash discount or an alternative 20-percent down payment at just P48,000.
The Nanobox is priced at around P888,000.
Here, organizers of the three-day show had one Nanobox unit raffled off.
Nammi
Next was the Nammi electric vehicle hatchback. It sits above the Nanobox and measures only four meters long. It rivals the likes of the GWM Ora, the MG4, and the BYD Dolphin.
It is powered by a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, delivering 94 hp and 160 N-m of torque, while topping out at 140 km/h. It has a 42.3 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery that gives it a range of up to 430 km using the CLTC cycle and comes with both an AC and DC plug for charging.
It is priced at around P1.2M. At the show, it was offered with a P 50,000 cash discount or a low 20-percent down payment of P68,000.
MHero
Meanwhile, from petite electrics, we go to mammoth-like behemoths such as this MHero, built for off-road enthusiasts.
The military-inspired EV is the brand’s flagship offering in the country and is being offered in limited quantities.
Equipped with four electric motors, the M-Hero’s powertrain generates a whopping total of 1,085hp and 1,400 N-m of torque. The huge 140 kWh battery gives the off-road EV a maximum range of up to 500 km under the CLTC cycle.
The monster EV starts at P6,980,000.00. At the show, it was offered a generous P200,000 cash discount for event attendees.
Rich 6
Finally, Rich 6 EV produces 162 hp with 420 N-m of torque and is powered by a lithium-ion phosphate battery that’s rated at 60.16 kWh. On a full charge, Dongfeng says it can travel an estimated 350 km.
The carmaker offered as much as a whopping P490,000 cash discount for show attendees.
Legado Motors’ deputy CEO Brennan Singson Lim was thrilled to have their vehicles displayed at the show.
“It’s a testament that Dongfeng is a responsible brand. It looks into the future benefits of alternative energy vehicles for the environment and the new motoring market,” he said.
Moreover, Dongfeng Philippines’ managing director, Atty. Albert Arcilla saw Dongfeng’s participation in the EVAP as part of its continuous efforts to introduce to the local market their wide array of models.
“The brand is committed to responsible motoring ownership. And we are grabbing every opportunity to contribute to the protection of the environment.”
