EV delights at MIAS 2026

The Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2026 is set to open from April 9 to 12 at the World

Trade Center, will once again be the premiere venue for automakers and distributors to

launch their latest models. Now in its 21st edition, the show adopts the theme “Powering Mobility,” positioning itself not merely as a display of new vehicles but as a signal of how the Philippine automotive industry is adapting to various economic and geopolitical pressures.

Held once again at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, MIAS expands its footprint with the reintegration of the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC). The addition contributes over 3,000 square meters of space and nearly 60 new display slots, bringing total exhibition capacity to approximately 22,500 square meters. Shuffle services and an air-conditioned linkway will connect the two venues and maximize visitor convenience.

A clear directional shift defines this year’s show: electrification and responsible mobility. Automakers are placing increased emphasis on electric vehicles (EVs), hybrids, and alternative energy systems, alongside supporting infrastructure such as EV charging solutions. This reflects a domestic market gradually aligning with global decarbonization trends, driven by cost pressures and policy signals.

The 2026 roster includes 25 brands, spanning legacy manufacturers and newer entrants: AITO, BAIC, Bestune, BYD, Changan, Chery, Deepal, Denza, DFSK, Foton, GAC, Geely, GWM, Jetour, Kia, Lotus, Lynk & Co, MG, MINI, Omoda, Jaecoo, Radar, Rox, 212, alongside curated BMW M Series and GR Philippines vehicles via Autoplus Group. The breadth of participation underscores increasing competition, particularly from Chinese manufacturers accelerating their presence in Southeast Asia.

Among key launches, DENZA highlights its premium NEV lineup with the D9 and Z9 GT, while previewing the upcoming B5 and B8—both featuring hybridized powertrains and extended driving ranges exceeding 900 km. The brand’s positioning leans toward high-end electrified mobility with a strong experiential focus at its booth.

ROX Motor introduces the ADAMAS, a flagship extended-range electric SUV (REEV) targeting both luxury and off-road segments. With a combined range exceeding 1,200 km and features such as an intelligent cockpit and outdoor-lifestyle integrations, the model reflects a growing niche in adventure-oriented electrified vehicles.

Changan, meanwhile, brings a more mass-market proposition with the Eado Plus sedan. Positioned as a value-driven daily vehicle, it combines a 1.5L gasoline engine with practical in-car technology and a competitive price point, targeting volume growth in the compact segment.

Additional expected highlights include models from Deepal, 212, and other emerging brands, alongside returning staples such as the Petron Custom Classic Car Competition, which continues to showcase local craftsmanship and heritage builds.

Overall, MIAS 2026 captures a transitional moment. The industry is balancing affordability with innovation by moving incrementally toward a more electrified, system-oriented mobility landscape.
