Expecting breakthroughs in the Year of the Snake
Snakes and cars may not seem to be the most natural association, but several nameplates like Cobra and Viper play off the snake’s innate power and mystique. We chatted with our friend and Feng Shui consultant Richard Yu and here are some of his thoughts on the Year of the Wood Snake:
“The Year of the Dragon has come and gone by the time this article is published. For many, it was likely a year filled with challenges and sadness. This is because, regardless of one’s animal sign, those in the Philippines will be significantly influenced by the Dog sign. The Philippines is associated with the Dog sign due to its independence dates, whether in 1898 or 1946.
“We now welcome the Year of the Snake with eagerness and relief, as it brings hope and opportunities that were absent during the Dragon year. This lunar year will see significant attention and changes in two main fields: art and science. Expect major breakthroughs and innovations that may surprise even the most skeptical individuals.
However, it is crucial to understand that learning about these advancements is necessary before putting them to use. Skipping this step can lead to disastrous outcomes. A prime example of this is the gradual shift towards hybrid and clean energy vehicles in the automotive sector. These vehicles are steadily increasing in number on our streets and in various industries. While many may focus on the benefit of being able to use them on coding days, the greatest advantage lies in their contribution to reducing environmental pollution.
Additionally, they help ease the financial burden caused by the regular price hikes we experience. In summary, these innovations not only help mitigate health problems—something that is unfortunately low on luck this Snake year—but also provide some relief to our wallets. As for traditional combustion engine vehicles, we are witnessing advancements in engine technology that offer enhanced efficiency and cleaner exhaust emissions.
A significant development is the exploration of alternative fuels, including hydrogen, to power these new efficient engines. This progress suggests that combustion engine vehicles will continue to be prevalent on our roads. However, as mentioned earlier, it is essential to understand how to properly use the new technologies now at our disposal. AI-assisted systems and auto-pilot features, which have become accessible to many, should not be abused or dismissed.
While the Snake year may bring numerous material blessings, it does not extend the same fortune to non-material aspects. Health and trust issues are particularly vulnerable this lunar year, so it’s important to remain vigilant regarding these concerns. Relying on your vehicle’s new technologies does not mean you can skip the learning process. Additionally, attempting to modify or tweak these technologies on your own is strongly discouraged.
This Snake year, the Sickness Star influences everything, indicating that safety and health can be easily compromised if you stray from established norms. Therefore, it’s essential to do your research when purchasing a new vehicle. Verify not only its efficiency but also its safety track record. On a lighter note, while the Ox may have the weakest luck this Snake year, that doesn’t mean you should leave your Ox-branded car parked in the garage all year.
You can be assured that owning a vehicle with such a brand or name won’t automatically bring you bad luck. What can bring you misfortune is using any vehicle, including one from the Ox brand, without sufficient experience or excessive confidence in your driving skills. We conclude our Lunar New Year message on a positive note: This year is an excellent time to purchase your dream vehicle. If your budget allows, treat yourself! Just remember to read and follow the manufacturer’s manual (or watch the corresponding instruction videos) before taking your new car out for its first drive around the block.” Happy Year of the Snake!
