The big reveal during the the recent opening of the Honda Cars Talisay in Cebu was not just how the Goho family’s Gateway Group has steered the company to becoming the biggest Honda dealer in the country.
The Gateway Group opening its fifth Honda dealership was another milestone in the multi-brand company’s long 20-year history in the automotive business.
In the presence of the top brass of Honda Cars Philippines who flew in for the opening, Gateway Group chairman Markane Goho spilled a couple of secrets.
“My first car was a Honda Civic and had quite a lot of memories with it,” said the 40-plus debonair that elicited giggles from the crowd that included his mom Estrella and HCP president Rie Miyake.
And that, in a big part, was reason for Markane’s to keep Honda close to his heart. Another reason was that while they have several brands under their portfolio, a lot of managers who are fortunate to be given car plans often choose Honda even if they’re assigned to another brand.
The Honda dealership is another addition to what has been transformed as the automotive row in Talisay that is, ironically, a gateway to the big cities and towns in Cebu, especially the booming south reclamation area where multi-story hotels and malls have risen.
Located at Highway, Linao, Talisay City, Cebu, the dealership covers an area of approximately 2,800 square meters. It is the first Gateway dealership to feature a distinctive design, with the showroom and service reception housed in separate buildings. This layout aims to enhance the overall customer experience, ensuring a dedicated space for either sales or after-sales interactions.
