Filipinos anticipating the arrival of the new Isuzu Mu-X need not sweat it out any longer. Isuzu Philippines Corporation’s mid-sized SUV has just recently been introduced in the local market during a ceremony held at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. Following successes in neighboring counties, like Thailand and Australia, this behemoth is poised to do the same here in our turf with its upgraded performance, luxury, comfort and safety features.

In fact, IPC’s newly-minted president, Mikio Tsukui, was personally there to grace the launching ceremony.

“For over a decade, the Isuzu Mu-X has been a staple in Filipino households, trusted by families, business professionals, and adventure seekers alike,” he said.

“With its new elevated design, enhanced features, and cutting-edge technology, we have no doubt that this latest model will once again set the standard in the SUV segment,” added Tsukui.

At the onset, the Mu-X still dons the same fighter jet design, this time, more stylish and sophisticated. Its new dynamic front grille and sculpted hood enhance its athletic and robust profile. Now with a redesigned front bumper, integrated with an air curtain function, it has further improved aerodynamics, reducing drag and cabin noise, thus helping improve fuel-efficiency.

Moreover, with its new Dynamic Blade Bi-Beam LED headlamps, the vehicle delivers topnotch illumination while out there on the road in the dark of night. Complementing these are distinctive rear combination tail lamps, redesigned tailgate, integrated spoiler, and refined lower bumper. Capping these are new 20-inch dynamic turbine alloys.

Inside, this new Mu-X further enhances the meaning of premium luxury with its top-tier offering a refined all-black leather interior with the addition of a new cabin ambient lighting. Add to these are meticulously designed piano black accents and long character lines, as well as a newly-upgraded leather-wrapped steering wheel with improved stitching.

Meanwhile, a seven-inch multi-information display is built for the driver. This makes it easier to monitor vehicle performance as it provides real-time data, including eco-driving information, four-wheel drive engagement, and rough terrain mode settings. While front and center is its 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports both wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing seamless smartphone integration, not to mention featuring a wireless charger.

Under this vehicle’s hood is its potent and reliable 4JJ3-TCX 3.0L Blue Power engine, delivering 180hp and 450 N-m of torque. In addition to this, offroad enthusiasts also get more than what they have bargained for with its new traction control system with rough terrain mode. These all the more makes it a vehicle suitable for any kind of terrain.

Likewise, its refined suspension system absorbs road imperfections, offering a smoother and more comfortable ride. Pairing this with an improved chassis design also boosts handling and cornering stability, allowing for precise control even at high speeds.

Safety-wise, the 2025 Isuzu Mu-X further upgrades its technology with its newest advanced driver assist system (ADAS) featuring the brand’s Gen4 SMART Duo Camera, a state-of-the-art stereo camera with a 120-degree field of view and an extended detection range of up to 120 meters. This system can accurately detect pedestrians, cyclists, and other obstacles. A 360-degree around view monitor also ups the ante, improving awareness of its surroundings. While a first-in-class digital video recorder (DVR), front parking sensors and rear cross traffic brake (RCTB), helping the existing rear cross traffic alert (RCTA) system add more to security.

The 2025 Isuzu Mu-X price is priced as follows: Isuzu mu-X RZ4E 4×2 LS AT- P 1,725,000; Isuzu mu-X 3.0L 4×2 LS-A AT – P2,069,000; Isuzu mu-X 3.0L 4×2 LS-E AT- P2,320,000 and Isuzu mu-X 3.0L 4×4 LS-E AT P 2,670,000.
