GROOVE KIND OF LIVE

Chevrolet Philippines launched the all-new 2025 Chevrolet Groove on Wednesday at the Solaire Resort and Casino in Paranaque City.

The five-seat, subcompact crossover will dance off against the Toyota Yaris Cross, along with various offerings from China. Also present were General Motors Korea president, managing director and CEO Hector Villareal, Hariphil Asia Resources Inc. (HARI) chair Richard Lee and HARI director, treasurer and CFO Ladislao Avila Jr.

“This launch represents Chevrolet’s ongoing evolution – giving Filipino motorists across generations a vehicle that celebrates inclusiveness, innovation, and personalization,” said Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, who is the vice chair, president and CEO of HARI, which is the exclusive distributor of Chevrolet in the Philippines.

“It’s built for real lives – those who move through vibrant communities and dynamic urban spaces with purpose and style,” she added.

Sharp styling

This little Chevy features a rather aggressive front end, starting with large LED headlights that are linked by a chrome strip along the front grill.

Giving the Groove a scowl are the bracked-shaped flourishes on the lower bumper that house the foglights. Down the side, it comes with two-tone, 17-inch alloy wheels that are accentuated by the matte-black fender trim, while the gloss-black roof and chrome trim emphasize styling embellishments like the upward kink in the C-pillar.

The rear is by far the sportiest angle of the Groove, emphasized by steeply raked rear windscreen, wide LED taillights and dual exhaust pipes housed in a faux diffuser.

Sporty cabin

Inside, the Groove features a leather-lined interior with red contrast stitching and red accents.

Front passengers get bucket-style seats with electric adjustment for the driver, along with a 7-inch digital gauge cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The center console also happily features a traditional gear selector and separate controls for the climate-control system.

Turbo power

Helping the Groove hustle is a turbocharged 1.5-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-4 gasoline engine pumping out 148 horsepower and 255 Newton-meters of torque, which are coursed through a continuously variable transmission.

Safety-wise, this Chevy gets front, side and curtain airbags, along with ISOFIX child-restraint anchors. The Groove is also one of the few vehicles in its price range to come with an advanced driver assistance system that includes life-saving features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Prevention and Emergency Lane Keeping.

“The Chevrolet Groove signals a fresh chapter in mobility – smart, stylish, and built for pure driving enjoyment,” said Perez-Agudo. “It resonates with a new generation of drivers who demand practicality without sacrificing bold design or driving pleasure. This is Chevrolet at its most dynamic: global engineering, youthful energy, and everyday reliability in one bold subcompact SUV.”

The 2025 Chevrolet Groove is available only in the top-spec RS variant with three colors, namely White, Tungsten Grey and the bluish Star Twinkle Black. Its suggested retail price is P1,268,000, although Chevrolet Philippines is offering the Groove at a limited-time introductory price of P1,156,000.
