Hino Eco-Driving Training boosts fuel efficiency for Brother Industries
Hino Motors Philippines (HMP) recently conducted an Eco-Driving Training for 19 bus drivers of Brother Industries at the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) in Batangas for better driving practices that can translate into improved fuel efficiency, safer operations, and potential cost savings.
Led by HMP’s Aftersales Training Department in partnership with Hino Batangas, the program focused on practical fuel-saving and safe-driving techniques. Drivers’ normal driving habits were first monitored using Hino Diagnostics, followed by classroom instruction and hands-on application of Eco-Driving methods under the supervision of Hino trainers.
The training delivered measurable results, with average fuel efficiency improving from 3.01 km/L under normal driving to 3.53 km/L with Eco-Driving, representing an 18.79% improvement or an average increase of 0.52 km/L for the Hino RK8J bus.

“At Hino, our commitment to Total Support goes beyond providing reliable vehicles. It also means helping our customers maximize the performance and value of their operations.” said Maki Yamazaki, President of Hino Motors Philippines. “The results of this training show how proper driving practices can make a meaningful difference in fuel efficiency, operating costs, and safety. We are pleased to support Brother Industries in helping their drivers achieve more efficient and responsible fleet operations.”
The improved fuel efficiency also highlights the potential benefits of Eco-Driving practices. Based on a projected 50,000-kilometer annual operation, the 18.79% improvement in fuel efficiency demonstrates the potential of proper driving techniques to help transport operators reduce fuel consumption and improve operational efficiency.
The results underscore HMP’s Total Support commitment in providing customers with not only reliable commercial vehicles, but also training and aftersales solutions that help improve fleet efficiency, safety, and long-term operating value.
Hino is participating in the inaugural Philippine International Truck Show at the SMX Convention Center from October 22-24, 2026.
