Honda Cars PH to open 4 more new dealerships in 2025

In a gathering for the local motoring media’s thanksgiving celebration at The Fifth in Rockwell Power Plant Mall in Mandaluyong City, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) divulged several milestones and upcoming projects up its sleeve. One of them is the announcement of the opening of four new dealerships this 2025. These dealerships will be located in Talisay, Batangas; Manila Bay in Metro Manila; Tacloban City, Leyte and in Parañaque, adding to the 40-strong dealerships in its nationwide network across 38 cities in the archipelago.

Moreover; HCPI also announced new milestones for its vehicles sold in the local market in 2024 as they grew in numbers compared to 2023. These vehicles were the Honda HR-V, which grew by 18 percent year-on-year; the Honda City, 25 percent (YOY) and its iconic nameplate CR-V, surging by 51 percent (YOY). Last year, the Honda CR-V e:HEV model variant even sold 1,200 units, making it the biggest number of sales for the particular model (in its hybrid version) in recent years.

In 2024, HCPI sold a total of 15,518 units or a 3.32-percent market share.

Speaking of hybrid vehicles and electrification in general, HCPI president Rie Miyake shared the company’s global direction in the upcoming years.

“By 2030, the global goal is to sell 1.3 million hybrid vehicles annually,” she said.

According to her, this is all part of Honda’s carbon neutral goals which the carmaker aims for the environment to be cleaner and safer for future generations.

New Honda HR-V preview

Furthermore, in line with the goal of selling more than one million hybrid vehicles by 2030, the Japanese carmaker, during the event, highlighted its preview of the newest lineup of the Honda HR-V: one variant an upgrade; the other, an all-new model, which is the Honda HR-V RS e:HEV. This now electrified vehicle sports a new 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine with an electric motor for a combined power output of 131 horsepower and 253 N-m of torque.

During the program, the vehicle was presented by the company’s new senior assistant vice president and adviser, Futoshi Kumekawa, who used to head the HR-V Global Sales Project at Honda Motor Co. Ltd. product planning division.

The night then was capped by the closing remarks from HCPI’s general manager for sales, Aizza Flores and, of course, a number of exciting raffle prizes.

Indeed, it was a fruitful 2024 for HCPI and again, we look forward to another productive one this year!
