Is this the next ride-hailing vehicle?

Dongfeng Motors Philippines has officially launched the Dongfeng E70 Pro, its first-ever fully electric sedan—marking a bold step forward in its mission to promote clean, sustainable, and efficient mobility in the country. The unveiling was held at Dongfeng Motors Ortigas and brought together key leaders from Legado Motors Inc., the official distributor of Dongfeng vehicles in the Philippines.

In attendance were Wilbert Lim (President and CEO), Brennan Lim (Deputy CEO), Regina Singson Lim (Chief Finance Officer), and Giovanni Frias (Vice President for Sales and Operations). They were joined by trusted dealer-partners and stakeholders.

This launch signals a bold new chapter for Dongfeng Motors PH where innovation meets purpose. In a time when fuel costs are rising, environmental challenges persist, and demand for smart, clean, and affordable mobility grows, the E70 Pro emerges as a timely solution for both public and private transportation.

“Today, we are not just unveiling a new electric vehicle,” said Brennan Nathan Singson Lim in his speech. “We are opening the doors to a smarter, greener, and more sustainable way of moving forward. The E70 Pro is our contribution to building a future where Filipino cities breathe cleaner air and Filipinos are empowered by reliable, and intelligent mobility.”

The Dongfeng E70 Pro stands out with its impressive range of 420 kilometers on a single charge, offering a reliable solution even for those concerned with range anxiety. It also offers a spacious cabin, comfortable seating, and an overall smooth driving experience ideal for both personal and professional use. Unlike common misconceptions surrounding EV ownership, the E70 Pro is a globally tested and proven vehicle manufactured by Dongfeng, one of the most established automotive brands in Asia. Its battery system has undergone and passed a series of rigorous safety and durability tests, including the Fire Test, Water Immersion Test, Extrusion Test, and Heat Dissipation Test, ensuring that every ride is backed by engineering that prioritizes safety, reliability, and peace of mind for today’s Filipino driver.

Globally, the E70 Pro has already earned its reputation as one of the most trusted electric taxis in both China and South America. And now, it arrives in the Philippines with the same level of reliability and purpose, just as the country begins to shift toward greener mobility alternatives.

From an economic standpoint, the E70 Pro offers significant cost savings. With current fuel prices, drivers can save up to ₱47.00 for every 6–7 km drive, which means that over 100,000 kilometers, savings can reach ₱783,349, a game-changing figure for individual drivers and fleet operators alike. Additionally, with lower maintenance requirements, the estimated upkeep over five years is just ₱35,000.00, further proving that the E70 Pro is not just good for the environment, but also for the wallet. Priced at an accessible ₱1,198,000, the E70 Pro redefines the value of owning an electric vehicle in the Philippines.

Its sleek look, functionality, and quiet electric operation impressed many attendees and transport operators.

The turnout and interest strongly suggest that the E70 Pro may indeed be the next vehicle of choice for the growing ride-hailing and transport service sector in the Philippines.

With its combination of clean technology, cost efficiency, ride comfort, and reliability, the Dongfeng E70 Pro is poised to transform the way Filipinos move – be it for personal, public, or commercial use.
