Jetour GAIA joins 60th Easter Jeep Safari
The Jetour GAIA brand made a huge wave this year in the Philippines with the introduction of models like the G700 sport-utility vehicle (SUV) at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show.
GAIA is actually an acronym for “Generation of All-Terrain Intelligent Architecture.” It promises to combine indulgent luxury with cutting-edge off-roading tech and supercar-beating, plug-in-hybrid-electric-vehicle (PHEV) power – hardly a surprise given that Jetour is the country’s best-selling PHEV brand in the first half of 2026.
And all that hype isn’t just for the cameras. The automaker announced in a press statement that it is the first Chinese brand to ever participate in the grueling Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah with its G700 and G700 Whistling Arrow SUVs.
“Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with established, world-renowned off-road automotive brands, the Jetour GAIA G700 did far more than simply hold its own – it delivered a stellar performance that exceeded all expectations on one of the planet’s most grueling automotive stages,” the company said.
Brutal
Since 1966, the Easter Jeep Safari has been one of the world’s ultimate proving grounds for off-road vehicles.
For the event’s landmark 60th anniversary, heavily modified off-roaders (usually Jeep models) tackled the unforgiving rock ledges, mesas and sandstone canyons of Moab, Utah for nine days starting March 28. Jetour GAIA said the event was also a vibrant platform for the global off-road community.
To highlight this crossover appeal, Jetour GAIA invited Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame driver Robby Gordon and renowned adventurer Hazen Audel to experience the vehicles firsthand during core driving sessions across Moab’s most challenging trails.
“Only the toughest, most engineered machines can successfully master this hardcore terrain,” Jetour GAIA said. “Yet, the Jetour GAIA G700 and its companion model, the G700 Whistling Arrow, navigated Moab’s iconic vertical ledges, loose sand, and treacherous slickrock with unexpected ease and supreme capability.”
Proven toughness
The automaker said the G700 met the high standards of icons like Gordon and Audel, underscoring the engineering prowess poured into the platform.
“The vehicles’ balanced weight distribution, precise steering responsiveness and advanced suspension systems allowed them to glide effortlessly across complex obstacles that routinely break lesser builds,” Jetour GAIA said. “The successful deployment at Moab validates Jetour GAIA’s long-term vision of bringing world-class adventure engineering to a global audience.”
In the Philippines, the flagship G700 features a ladder-frame chassis and a turbocharged 2.0-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve, inline-4 gasoline engine mated to dual electric motors and a 34.13-kWh battery pack. Combined output is a whopping 904 horsepower and 1,135 Newton-meters of torque.
Jetour GAIA Philippines said the G700 can also do up to 1,200 kilometers on one full tank and one full charge, including a maximum of 138 kilometers of battery range. Priced at P4,488,000, this electrified SUV competes directly with the Denza B8 that starts at P4,998,000, while undercutting rivals like the non-electrified Toyota Land Cruiser Prado at P4,806,000.
“By shattering historical barriers at the 60th annual Easter Jeep Safari, Jetour GAIA has officially rewritten the narrative on Chinese automotive capability in extreme environments,” Jetour GAIA said.
“The G700 continues to break the mold, proving decisively that it belongs among the elite ranks of global trailblazers – conquering the world’s most demanding off-road terrains with unwavering confidence and style,” it added.
